Charly_Owl Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 Hey guys, I just wanted to thank you all for your words of encouragement. I appreciate that you folks find this document useful. If you see any mistakes (typos, procedures, etc.) feel free to let me know. For the moment, that guide is mostly a Work-In-Progress as much as the actual Harrier module is. As Razbam implements new functionalities, I'll try to cover them too. Cheers, Chuck 1 Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Chuck's Guides on Mudspike Chuck's Youtube Channel Chuck's Patreon

Kula66 Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Another excellent guide ... any chance you could add the EM diagram??
JanTelefon Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 I noticed one thing in the guide. Not sure if it's been mentioned in the thread. When engaging with rockets, the rockets naturally have their dynamic pipper. I am however quite sure that the gun cross is boresighted and not a pipper that tells you where the rounds will land like the A-10C does. This is on page 124 in the guide. Thanks for great guides.
Groundpoiunder Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Thanks a lot Chuck. As with all of your guides, this one is so beautifully prepared with such a great attention to detail and layout. DCS World would be a poorer sim without all your hard work. Just a quick point about Part 6 Landing. Shouldn't the landing gear limiting speed be 250 knots rather than 180? All of the NATOPS manuals (including the drawings you've used in your guide) state "Gear Down, Flaps Auto, 250 Knots".
Kafka Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Just got your latest Harrier Guide. Thanks Chuck for the work you do for our community :)

sc_neo Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Thanks for the improvements! I noticed there was no addition of bookmarks like you started to do with the other revisions. I think those bookmarks really benefit your guides :)
Charly_Owl Posted October 1, 2019 Author Posted October 1, 2019 I'm working on it... I'll implement them once the JDAM tutorial is complete (or else I'll have to re-do them again since you can't offset bookmark pages from FOXIT). Hopefully, the JDAMs will become available with this Thursday's patch. Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Chuck's Guides on Mudspike Chuck's Youtube Channel Chuck's Patreon

Shimmergloom667 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Hey Chuck, thanks for the update! Say, do you think it's possible that the latest version of your various guides could be posted on the guide-section frontpage on mudspike, so one can see at a glance which ones have changed and could use downloading? Charly_Owl Posted October 3, 2019 Author Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) So far, you can't (unlike the Hornet, where you can program an A/A Waypoint). For the Harrier, it's based on the Bullseye set in the mission editor. You can however set a waypoint with the same coordinates as the bullseye. Hey Charly_Owl, Quick question for you...on page 104 SHIP TAKEOFF line 4 states "4. Verify that GWT (Gross Weight) of aircraft is below 25250 ft." Can you point me toward the reference for this weight? Is it a procedural limit? Performance limit, operating restriction? Not questioning the weight want to learn why that weight. Charly_Owl Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 Razbam's pocket guide states 26000 lbs in the Weight Limitation section, Baltic Dragon's training mission states 25250 lbs. I'm pretty sure this is an operating restriction to ensure a safe takeoff from a ship. The engine may not be able to provide sufficient thrust to provide a safe takeoff in heavier configurations.
