Has anyone tried Nvidia 391.01 drivers with DCS 2.5 OpenBeta ?

 

I installed these latest video card drivers, but haven't tested them yet.. :joystick:

ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind

G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD

EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer)

55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR

Looks like they just came out yesterday. I had no issues on the 390.77 which appeared to be the last update. Some folks didn't like the 390.XX versions and had reverted to 388.71.

 

I'll download these new ones and try as well. I usually have no issue on new drivers at all.

the 390.xx were not great in VR..

 

headsets going blank.

 

no mention of this in the release notes for 391 so ill give it a miss...

My Rig: AM5 7950X, 32GB DDR5 6000, M2 SSD, EVGA 1080 Superclocked, Warthog Throttle and Stick, MFG Crosswinds, Oculus Rift.

From last night (MP) I can say that everything went surprisingly smoothly with v391.01.

Seems fine for me so far.

Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment.

Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above.

 

Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.

I bit the bullet and cleared my old 388.71 install with DDU and installed 391.01, seems to have installed correctly compared to previous 390.x driver versions.

 

Pros:

 

  • Runs DCS and other games ok.
  • Will run for a while to see how things pan out and wait for a fix in later driver patches.

Cons:

 

  • Wouldn't install over the top of previous drivers with out first clearing all traces of Nvidia software with DDU.
  • Doesn't support sleep mode on my machine as previous versions did, comes back from sleep fine, but runs like s#$* in windows with severe graphics corruption which is only fixed with a reboot. (Never have any corruption unless I put computer into and out of sleep).
  • GPU-z reports no CUDA core support, but I would say that is an issue with GPU-z detection of the new CUDA 9.1 interface, as card runs CUDA benchmarks fine.

I tried the 391.01 but it caused all sorts of problems with Rift, showing orange led, refusing to wake up, screens going black ect; so Im back on 388.59.

System spec: i9 9900K, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra motherboard, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM, Corsair M.2 NVMe 1Tb Boot SSD. Seagate 1Tb Hybrid mass storage SSD. ASUS RTX2080TI Dual OC, Thermaltake Flo Riing 360mm water pumper, EVGA 850G3 PSU. HP Reverb, TM Warthog, Crosswind pedals, Buttkicker Gamer 2.

391.01 on Rift CV1 and GTX1070

More fluent, and some 388.13 strange jitter is gone...

Did a "clean" install... so it must have helped...

If I may, I would suggest that posters specify their viewing mode when reporting on Driver versions.
