In-Development WWI Sim

http://www.simhq.com/_air9/air_290a.html

The interesting part is :

Flight Model / Damage Model

Q. Owing to a lack of clearly defined flight models such as NACA tests, how were FM's developed?

A. Basic physics will help us. ;). Also about NACA tests, there is some of them present for WWI airfoils, basic data for engines available, basic weight distribution thru aircraft construction available, so we think flight models are going to be pretty close to what happened 90 years ago. As I described previously, we have contact with these bids flyers to check them :). About flight modeling, our FM engineer is an author of the Su-25T advanced flight model in LockOn, so you will be able to benefit from his knowledge in flight dynamics when you try it out.

Well being an author maybe he told what have to be simulated ? And the programming geeks did the AFM job.

I've actually been following this (KOTS) simulators development since early last summer..

The gentleman's name I believe is An Petrovic.. And he was working here at ED and is actually working for GT now ......

As far as telling them how to develop the flight model for that simulation maybe that's the way he works, but why does it matter..

He' done a excellent job here at ED developing the AFM for the SU-25T and as far as I know all of future AFM will be based on his original guide lines...

And I hear that he's carried his excellent skills over to GT, and the flight model of all the WWI A/C, will be spot on as well ...

:shocking: Great!

Despite whole gorgeous atmospheric effects, clouds, etc I must admit that I like DCS textures more from what I've seen in Producers Note #3. Trees differ from each other only a shape here. From altitude they look like from SimCity4. What about differents in colour? But such style probably fits to sim climate.

Yeah Wings!

Some times I play Wings with WinUAE on my PC.

There is also a remake for the GBA.

Oh, sorry! Back to Topic...

It was quit still about KoTS. Now these screens. Is it still in development for sure?

oh man, why is it that when new technologies are developed to make super realistic SIM's they have to do it to aircraft that are increasingly lower and slower?! :wallbash:

First I have seen of this Sim. Personally I like the period and there are no good WW1 Flight Sims out there, looking forward to this one, it looks excellent. Anyone know when it is due out ?
