Of course!

But the point is: Will we ever have a nearly perfect simulation again in this new environment, or since the a-10c is an older module, we Will Be forgotten in favour of newer Planes, and Will have to enjoy the a-10c in the Legacy 1.5.8 for a very long period of time / Forever? No problem to me, 1.5.8 is lightest and performs better, but if you want to expand the military contest, imho you cannot forget the warthog!

How come these issues aren't found when the patch is tested before it's released?

It would take months and 100's of testers to check everything in DCS WORLD, they are trying to fix many things in the NEW merged 2.5 build, many here don't mind helping out to find bugs in new beta builds. That's why all these bug sections exist on the forum, to help ED find any new bugs to fix using 1000s of users that will help play with all the possible conditions, easier way to find any new bugs and we get to play with the latest build too.

It's hard at the moment as the 2 NEW versions are close together "Beta's", this will move apart more going forward, then if you don't want to mess with the beta's stick to the release version. At the moment if you don't like to run into bugs you could go back to an older version of the sim.

The title says it all.

Community considerations?

TGP WHOT/BHOT was broken throughout much of the 1.5 branch.

Datalinked targets got elevation wrong since forever (aka as long as I can recall).

Any aircraft could fly through trees.

The A-10C never, ever looked as good as it does in 2.5 Caucasus (well, that's true for just about any other module as well, but you get my point).

Specifically the TGP WHOT/BHOT actually turned out fixed in 2.5 until it got broken again.

I'm not saying I'm glad things get broken. But 2.5 doesn't just advance DCS in general, it actually addressed some long standing issues that were specifically annoying for the A-10C in 1.5.

My consideration? I'd love everything to be perfect. But I take what I can get. And with 2.5, I'm not looking back. ;)

If you have the space put both release and beta on your rig. Release, though not perfect, is relatively stable with many things working. Beta will AWAYS have issues and that is what its for. By definition its a WIP and uses those who want to mess with it as testers a chance to hopefully improve the product while seeing some of the newer innovations. I don't expect a beta to ever work correctly. If it did it would be a release version. I don't complain about a beta. Release maybe depending but I also realize sometimes in getting a part to work, you have to temporarily break another. I think they sometimes roll out things maybe a little fast on release but when the bugs come in, for the most part they seem to try and get them fixed. Everyone has their pet bug and wants that bug to be fixed first. Sometimes it can, other times it cant. Roll with it and choose your version with what your tolerance level can handle. Just my two cents.

It's what Open Beta is for, and we appreciate everyone that helps us out with Open Beta. It gets tougher and tougher as DCS adds more stuff to catch everything. Not an excuse, just what happens, but lots of great reports came through and I think a lot of this has been addressed for the upcoming patch.
