What do you VR folks do with Labels and Label Size?

Experienced VR user here. 6 mo into DCS. I use voice attack to turn labels on and off completely but sometimes I need to see them : )

 

Problem is, the labels clump up and can cover the entire screen.

 

What do you VR folks do or change to make good use of Labels in DCS? I'd love any solutions rather than just on and off.

I have a labels.lua that puts a gray dot on aircraft from 3-10 miles I believe it is. It dissapears in close when you can see it and when its BVR. Send me your email and I'll give you a link to my cloud.

I know this is an old one but is it possible to resize labels, or have them appear/disappear based on range?

I tried whats in this post with no luck.

Yes you can. I used a custom lua for a while that did exactly that. Recently I moved to the new default dot-only labels: they were much improved upon.

I believe it was F15 Strike Eagle 3 that had scaling labels, but I'm not certain.  One of the old sims from the early 90's had them, and it's a clever and beneficial way to act as an assist to the pilot...and of course, since labels are an assist by their very nature, scaling by distance is not something that gets in the way of the "muh realism" folks.

To ED's credit they have several levels of labels from the dot to the more verbose, though scaling really is something they need to implement in my opinion.  But they won't, surely.

Someone here on the forum made it: it made the dots fade out at a specific distance, so to me it didn't feel like cheating. 
There were several such LUAs available; I tried them and picked the one that seemed best.
