GGTharos Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I don't see it happening ... at the very least the USAF will fight it tooth and nail, especially considering the amount of exporting that the Israeli defense companies do. SwingKid Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Really? I consider it an already-done deal, that they are just leaking to us slowly to create the facade of a public debate. (e.g. invading Iraq, missile defense, etc.) I'd sooner predict forbidding US companies from doing business in China, than denying the IAF a conventional weapon. -SK
Rhino104 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 No, its not going to happen. Could you imagine how much China or Russia would pay some terrorist organization in the Middle East to go in and steal one. Ok yes thats a joke, but still, I don't want it to happen. Israel is fine enough with their F-15s and F-16s.

skinners Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 ...Just not going to happen... end of discussion It will happen. Israel is a very close ally to the US and their inteligence is the best of the best in the world. Nothing happens without their knowledge. F-22s will be safe in the hands of IAF. Israel has the right to defend their country (It was already said that Iran wants to wipe Israel from the map) (Israeli) USAF pilots can do the strikes with Israeli markings on the (leased) F-22’s. For the UN everything would be OK. The only problem would be the S300’s :D . More like a non-problem ... with SDBs coming in from 50nm away from a stealth plane ... well :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Frostie Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Considering that the Europeans sell anything to the Arab countries - no strings attached :D I think you should look a lot closer to home for exports to Asian countries. "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. Pilotasso Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Israelis with their already numeric advantage to their neighbors they dont need F-22's at all. They would need only block 5 F-16's and vanilla F-15's to destroy surroundings airforces right now, thats all it would take. .
Prophet Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Immediantly surrounding maybe, but if you are throwing Iran in there, I think you would be underestimating them.
Pilotasso Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 ther shabalah... mutalah err... ramalah or whatever that friggin fighters name is :D is just an F-5 indigenous fighter variant, a few Mig-29's and some F-14's for show are hardly anything to match the IAF realy. IrAF is a paper tiger. .
GGTharos Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I think they may have a reasonable IADS in place. Further, the Israeli's problems are complicated by range and need to overfly other countries. hitman Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Would you give a 5th gen fighter to a country that is surrounded by potential enemies, just so they can come in and take land, and inherit the technology??
Aeroscout Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 It may not happen right away, but Isriel will be the first to recieve F-22s. (just as they did F-15s) and for good reason. like you goys said, they're one of the US's closest allies and have excelent intelegence. I think they deserve them. Just my 2 cents DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
GGTharos Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I don't think the US is keen on exporting the F-22 at all. They can have F-35's ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Aeroscout Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I never said the US was happy about it, i just said, it's going to happen, and they're goin' to isriel first. and yes, we'll give them 35s before the 22s. I can see that happening. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
GGTharos Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Given that the F-35 was 'specifically for export', and the F-22 is specifically domestic ... they can have F-22's when the USAF has F-24's or something :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
tflash Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Nasrallah didn't need an airforce whatever to cause a major embarrassment. I think the Israelis would be ill-advised to buy this kind of overkill technology. What they need is the MQ-9 Reaper and more Apaches and F16I's. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Weta43 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I was reading in the NY Times last week that the US has been negotiating some huge arms deals with friendly Gulf states over the last couple of months & that Irael has been expressing concern that this would tip the balance of power in the region. Perhaps this is how it will be restored, while allowing the more western friendly Arab countries to build up their own ability to deter their 'less friendly' neighbours. Cheers.
hitman Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Personally I think it would be an even better idea if we just sold the F-22A to the Japanese...for a small charge and upgrade on hardware/software, since they really do make the best of both avionics-wise.
Aeroscout Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 hum... ok... but the F-22 already is highly advanced avionics wise... but better is always good. Still. I think Isarel should get something. the F-35 would be good. what do thy currently have in their air force? F-16s, F-15s i know, but what about F/A-18s? DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
SVK_Fox Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Hmm before few months when discusion about Iran incrased I also saw some information about possible nuclear attack by Israel airforce against targets in Iran. Israel demented this message. Also we still dont know If also Israel have nuclear weapons. But giving new type of weapons like F-22 to state where are some ideas to attack his neighbour is crazy IMO. I dont want to support Iran, but I also see that Israle is more militant than they need to be.
Aeroscout Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 No, i dont think so, the Isrealies are actually on the defensive right now i believe. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
hitman Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Actually theyve been on the offence for the past year with Hezbollah. I personally could care less. Both sides have taken shots at each other and both have killed innocent civilians so there isnt an innocent party here.
