what specific files did it say were tainted, if you click on the shield it will tell you ...

Someone using Pimax has solved this:

This occurs only when dust is present, and the problem just appear on DCS VR Shaders (IC-pass), not in DCS VR Shaders performance mod for 2.5.5.41371

Great mod. My VR experience was much smoother. However now the NVG mod I was using (Tacca's NVG Mod) no longer works. It seems to default back to the standard DCS NVG which is the entire render being NVG instead of a more realistic NVG tube in the centre which the NVG mod provides.

 

Any work around for this?

I'm not sure if this has been posted (97 pages .. search didn't come up with something).

 

I watched the youtube video posted recently that links to this thread.

 

It mentions to enable the shaders, you should delete files in the saved games folder - I did this and the cached files return.

 

However, in deleting files in: DCS World\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\misc\metacache, and renaming the dcs folder to dcs.old, no files return and the original dcs folder doesn't get re-created either.

 

I'm guessing something didn't work... can someone confirm what the behaviour should be?

Fxo and metashaders2, get rebuilt using the mod, that's what takes the time when you first get in a jet for a region. Metacache does not get rebuilt, so your behaviour is expected.

Fixed - Just had to remove and reload the mods through JSGME

I was using the same version as Tygaris and DCS now fails when loading, VR has gone from smooth to slideshow with new update.

AMD 5800X, 64GB Corsair Vengeance Pro, AMD 6900xt, Windows 11, Quest 3.

Disable and delete previous versions. DO NOT COPY over the existing MOD

Repair DCS World

Delete fxo and metashaders from Saved Games

Delete contents from DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\misc\metacache\dcs

------ Repeat the above for all installed maps

Install the New Mod from the link above

Launch DCS :)

Thanks Tygaris! I updated DCS and the shader mod no longer worked. I tried your shader update and it's all good again. Not quite getting the fps I was before, but that could be due to the new DCS or shader options you had to remove. Appreciate your work. :)

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to provide much of an impact... only gained about 5 frames. I think we're just gonna have to ride this one out guys.

Haven't really checked the numbers, the fix is more like a band aid made out of dirty cloth ;) Hopefully someone more clever than me and with a lot more insight into the DCS rendering process will create a working solution.

 

But I never used the shader mods from this thread, only from the YT link so my fix is based on that. Maybe the mods from here were better in the first place - but not IC compliant.

 

 

Here is the list of changes I've made.

 

 

Compose.fx:
line 22:    + #include "_HMD.hlsl"
