Snake122 Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 I tried it and found it to be more trouble than it’s worth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ProMost switches yes, but for the F-16 ICP and A-10/Hornet UFC I have a plywood front and a project box for that area that was going to be a button box until I got PointCtrl and decided I didn't need another one. Even the MFDs I don't feel like I need the plywood support in general and it's just kinda nice for those since you have multiple close together presses quickly. RogueSqdn Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 (edited) New VR Pointing Device I’m. It saying it doesn’t have its benefits. But for me, the board being in a different physical spot than I was feeling for was disconcerting. Geometry of it with multiple cockpits was too difficult to overcome. Andrew u.k. Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 it's just kinda nice for those since you have multiple close together presses quickly. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk That's exactly it. I find setting up my bomb stations and using UFC, lots of quick presses, makes it more accurate than waving your hand in the air. I've just upgraded my pc, installed p-ctrl. Very accurate set up first time using the board. Obviously not for everyone and it can be a hassle getting it to fit your setup. I never use it for the Huey, but use it every time for the A10. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Steel Jaw Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Can this be used without some kind of board in front like I see others doing? The FCU’S slide over each index finger, on each FCU there is a left and right mouse button and a scroll button. These buttons are easily and naturally pressed with your thumb. http://forum.rafairuk-dcs.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3381 "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB.
RogueSqdn Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Yes, I don't use a board, and I think the example you posted is the only one I know of. You may be assuming something's more widespread than it is. Granted, I tried it with posterboard but found it more trouble than it's worth.. Cowboy10uk Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 How is it, I’ve never heard of this before? I’ve literally just stumbled across this device after watching a YouTube vid on how the USAF have used DCS and VR to extend their pilot training and was curious about what the device on their fingers was. Must admit it looks stunning, and if it’s good enough for the USAF, well I think it’s gonna be good enough for my little setup. just requested to be put on the waiting list for V2, and will look forward to my number being called. very impressed by what I’ve seen on the vids so far. MilesD Posted October 27, 2020 Author Posted October 27, 2020 Is there wait/order list for V2.0? Hey Harlikwin, FireCat says you keep your original number for v2. So when v2 comes out and you want to upgrade, you don't have to wait. When v2 production starts shipping, the list should go very fast, so the point should be moot. Ala12Rv-Tundra Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 What are the advantages of V2 please. There is a picture where a size comparision is showed, V2 finger units are smaller which I guess may be more comfortable against the HOTAS. Miles Vorkosigan Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 The other day I climbed into the pit (yeah...really do have to climb into my simpit), fired up the Sabre and took it for a spin. Kept waving my arms around trying to click the freakin' battery toggle...then I realized that I had forgotten to put on my finger lasers. Seriously though, I could not fly without them anymore.

Miles Vorkosigan Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 No, but they are a really good deal. I have the Thrustmaster Warthog with a Thrustmaster Cougar on an extension above the Warthog throttle and two Thrustmaster MDFs mounted on the sides. More than plenty of buttons even in VR.

Miles Vorkosigan Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 No, I use the MFDs for F1, F2, F10, Kneeboard/+/- etc. Pretty much anything that is not in the cockpit is on the MFDs, mostly system buttons. I use buttons on the Warthog for gear, engine start (Home Key) that kind of stuff. But if I can click on it in the cockpit I use my finger lasers. Course, I do have four more MFDs on a shelf.
