Terzi Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 For example SU-33 is only available for Russia. Well I understand that only Russian navy owns it and that's why its only included for Russia. On the other hand, you can add Ka-50 for USA, even though they do not have it. There are lots of examples for that. What is the ED policy on that? What is the rule whether a country has a unit available in DCS or not?
joey45 Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Having the FC planes for all countries would be nice. Having the high fidelity planes for all counties is a great idea. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45

Would make mission creation simpler 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
Terzi Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 I would suggest that there should be mission option: 1. Availability depends on real life 2. Everything available for all 3. (Maybe) Red countries own red assets, blue group owns blue. But 3rd option that raises the question for ex-ussr countries like Ukraine, Poland etc. They are default blue, but they own lots of red assets for historical reasons. Same problem goes for Finnish Mig-21 or German Mig-29. I think having only two options, 1st and 2nd options; is a good solution. Skins are different topic, they can be always country specific. With regards to the KA-50 question, as I recall player flyable aircraft are available for every faction. If you want a faction that has access to every unit (aircraft/ground units/ect), I believe "USAF Aggressors" can access all of them. I am away from my gaming machine for the weekend, but if I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me. It would be nice if all aircraft was available for every country. But if you for instance want to be able to fly the Su-33 for USA, you should use US air-force aggressors instead of USA in the ME. The aggressors have access to all aircraft. discwalker Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 (edited) I would be happy with a plus checkbox: if unchecked we able to choose from DCS arranged semi realistic list, if checked we able to choose from all units Current solution is for any against any + same against same, put one side: USAF Aggressors, put second side: all countries with unique planes This is not the same as flying our countries inventory with user made skins. User made skins must be added to usaf aggressors. While our country is in the DCS country list. There are a lot of countries arrangeable to coalitions, in the country selection list for unit can hold a filter for red or blue side listing only. Or at least with an aid to display countries with red or blue color in the list. Edited September 28, 2018 by discwalker GTX 1070 8GB, 16GB DDR3, W8.1 on SSD, DCS on another SSD

tsb47 Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I agree. If you are a mission creator and wanting to make an English based mission but with Soviet aircraft, it would be nice to be able to select eg the Su-17 for your side. As it is, you need to select Russia and then go with AI comms you don't understand. The only alternative is to mod the DB_countries.lua but break multiplayer. Baco Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I definitely agree. Let mission editors decide who flies what. And by the way also with the Ground and Naval asestes. The restrictions are ridiculous.

Cytarabine Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I agree. I see no reason why it should be restricted, sometimes you could use another plane as a stand in where the exact plane used by the country in question is not available (I know a Mirage 2000 is very different to a Mirage III but still it is better than nothing!)
