Frag
Holy hell I think you are ready to go!!!! But with a monster system like that, as constructive criticism, you should think about getting 32 gig. 16 gig can be short those days with Windows 10 and heavily modded games. I am a big player of Kerbal Space Program and I have that game eating 16 gig by itself with all the mods loaded. Everything else is monstrous ...you will ENJOY this! Gogojuice
Rog. I'll ask for another 16 for a stocking stuffer ;) I have spent the last hr trying to figure out if I should buy from steam or here.. All I can find are old posts (perhaps I'm too excited lol). Any suggestions as to which place?

Sn8ke_iis
Steam is a convenient copy protection client for general PC gaming. DCS has it's own client. Steam would just be a middleman as well as add a background process that you don't really need. PC's take a lot more maintenance than MACs and you have to be very careful what you download and install.
Bun
Your wife's a keeper. Haven't been on Steam in ages. Download the Open Beta here - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/ This includes Caucasus, the Su25T and a trainer version of the P-51 for free. There used to be a huge lag between release on Open Beta and Steam - don't know if that's still the case. I commonly read here people getting issues with the steam version. Go DCS download and don't look back.
BitMaster
You have a great wife ! She got a sister ? ;) *maybe you want to change the RAM into a 32GB kit. This is one of the things many have problems with. 16GB does have it's limits in DCS. BitMaster
You should easily be able to Overclock that to 4.3 or 4.5. I'm on a Maximum VIII and oc'ed at 4.7 stable. Just by applying XMP and answering YES to the Pop-Up window will catapult him to 4.7G all cores as a gift from Asus. That's plenty and easy to achieve, tho manual OC will get you 300MHz more with less Volts, very likely. But it works out-of-the-box "usually". Sorry Devrim spot taken, and she has no sister. It has taken us a long time to get where we are able to enjoy a few fruits of our labour. BTW.. I have to get her an apple watch lol. canadianbaken
That's almost exactly what I just bought. I did get 32gb because on my old rig I was using almost 16gb to run this game.
