Lixma 06 Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Is there any reason not to leave the restart switch on all the time?
Mike Busutil Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) Per the manual, it is prohibited to leave the AIR RELIGHT circuit breaker on for longer than 45 seconds. The engine oxygen supply system will permit five attempts at engine relight. (Provided the AIR RELIGHT circuit breaker is used for no more than 30 seconds) Edited October 28, 2018 by Mike Busutil [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Mike Busutil/apply/
Lixma 06 Posted October 28, 2018 Author Posted October 28, 2018 Thanks for the info chaps. I've just written a stern letter to Mikoyan and told them 2.5 minutes is simply not good enough and they must do better.
Kang Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 I'd imagine their reply will kindly point you towards the company's more recent product lines.
KilledAlive Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 The moment you see a drop in engine RPM, begin the relight procedure. I would recommend having a real quick Keybind to flip the switch.

czart13 Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Engine air restart is very easy and always succeeds. Turn on the on switch AIR RELIGHT and the motor starts itself.
Dehuman Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Engine air restart is very easy and always succeeds. Turn on the on switch AIR RELIGHT and the motor starts itself. Well depends on what caused the flameout. Need to make sure to be inside re-light parameters
Buzzles Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Engine air restart is very easy and always succeeds. Turn on the on switch AIR RELIGHT and the motor starts itself. Not always. The relight parameters are quite wide so it appears straight forward, but you can definitely be going too fast for it to work :music_whistling: Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
czart13 Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Well depends on what caused the flameout. Need to make sure to be inside re-light parameters According to the manual for the MiG-21 bis, after extinguishing the burning engine. Is forbidden to start the engine.
