Legendofdino Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Please consider adding more lighting to the flight deck of the Stennis. I’ve attached a photo taken from Vulcher’s Row on the Stennis during my 2016 deployment during night flight ops.
Rescue Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 +1 Some amber light is really needed for night ops

Lt. Scribbles Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Count me in! Could use a little better visibillity on the deck, aswell as spotting it from a further distance at night. Doum76 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 (edited) They do exist, as i was able to turn the Argument on in ModelViewer for another post on the subject, but it jsut doesn't turn on in game, but the Arguments for it does exits, maybe for a future planning. See below screenshots. As you can see, there is also lights in the island and the launch/cat/ observatory bunker, or not sure how it's called. Edited December 20, 2018 by Doum76

Oh my god, why why why why! isn't this implemented yet if it is coded in the model? This would make the carrier that much nicer. Those lights might be a bit too expensive? :P Kidding, maybe soething that cause another something in MP, dunno, but more likely, i'd be curious to know the reason.
Lt. Scribbles Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Maybe its forceable with a script? Doum76 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Maybe its forceable with a script? Maybe, but that is beyound my knowledge unfortunately :( i tried to make it force in the mission editor with flags and arguments but never worked...

Mars Exulte Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Oh my god, why why why why! isn't this implemented yet if it is coded in the model? This would make the carrier that much nicer. The likely reason is also incredibly obvious : it's not finished and not working properly yet. ChuckJäger Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 it'd be great to get some info on where the Stennis is at in development... this has to be on the list! Charlie-1 Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Why is stuff released that's so unfinished? If the images above is how it's meant to be then this is what should be released and only when it is accurate and ready. AG-51_Razor Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 While ED is at it, I sure hope that they take a look at what can be done to give pilots the ability to turn the deck lighting on at times other than night. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Torso Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Why is stuff released that's so unfinished? If the images above is how it's meant to be then this is what should be released and only when it is accurate and ready. My bet on this is they have the same issue they have with all their object/ground external lights, the ground or in this case deck illumination, is just baked into the texture, same as they do on the ground at airports. My bet is a plane parked right under those lights on deck is in fact NOT lit up by them and will be dark silhouettes. And while the same issue occurs at airports, on a carrier it would be MUCH more noticed and focused on I think. Leading to more complaints. Lack of Global Illumination(maybe a couple newer planes have them on their structure penetrating nav and beacon lights) is the cause for this and one of the reason why we have such terrible night time lighting in DCS. I very well could be wrong. But that is my bet. Edited January 12, 2019 by Torso
Legendofdino Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 Revisiting this because I believe it’s important and interested to know from devs if there’s a lingering reason why it’s not active in game if modelviewer has option.
