bandit648 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 There seems to be a significant performance increase in the latest beta. I've been flying around for the last hour with heavy clouds, fog, mirrors etc. and I haven't seen a single stutter. TrackIR panning with mirrors on is even smooth (@60 fps lock). bandit648 Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 Have you got SSAA on 2x also or just MSAA? I was running MSAA x2 + SSAA 1.5 before but switched to MSAA x4. While I was able maintain 60 fps most of the time with SSAA on, sometimes fps would just randomly dive into the 20's and 30's. I'll try it again with the latest patch and see if it's any better. MSAA x4 seems to be running nicely. When I try to run 4x MSAA along with 2x SSAA the frames drop sometimes to 55 ish. I’d like to be able to run both on highest so I’ll see..fingers crossed. i7 8700k @ 5.0ghz. On the other hand, you still get a stutter when there's a weapon hit (not necessarily your own), or when someone ejects or crashes. That sucks, but at least it's a step in the right direction! FragBum Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 FWIW and I posted this thread here Shows much higher CPU utilisation from `16% 2.5.3 to 28% 2.45.4. DCS is now using 2 cores at high usage levels in fact there might be an issue in NTTR but performance in PG seems smoother and more locked at 45FPS. I have to say for me the Rift image is no where as good as it was in 2.5.3 it's very poor. Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Goa Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Sounds good, I’m yet to do the update but I will tomorrow. You managed to run full MSAA and SSAA too? HI mate, there is no way to run full mSAA4X and SAA 2x on a 1440p monitor. I can run msaa 2x + SSAA 1.5 or MSAA 4X and SSAA disabled, all the other rest on high/exreme + shadow on low+flat.
