Hello, anyone who played BS who can tell me their PC specs and how well it runs for them?

I've just purchased a new PC and would like to know approximately how well the game will run for me.

Not to be rude, but have you played BS on your PC? Otherwise I guess it will only be an estimate.

I intentionally left my specs out because I don't want to have people go, "oh I think you'll do bad/ok/good with that.."

I want people who have actually played the game on their machines to state their specs and say how well it runs on their machine so that I can from that make an estimation of how it will run for me.

Arghh... Pilotasso, you're really pressuring me ;) I'll cave.. here are my soon to be specs:

Athlon X2 5600+

GeForce 8800GTS 340MB

2GB RAM (2x1GB PC6400)

2x250 GB HDDs in RAID 0

i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5

Given that Black Shark isn't finished yet, commenting on the performance of the Betas is pretty much irrelevant . . . . .

If the 5600+ is pretty much equivalent to the Core 2 Duos, then you've got a pretty strong rig there. I wouldn't be too worried.

Remains to be seen whether the Nvidia drivers for the 8800 get sorted - there have been mutterings about new beta drivers fixing the shadow bug, which would be fantastic, but I haven't tried it myself yet.

With those specs, i'd say you will be fine. Heck, your specs are better than mine and my pc is 2 years old. :P And i'm making a movie with this:

Asus Geforce 7800 GTX top

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 2,4 ghz

2 gig RAM

Quite enough... BS is just a mode not a new game ;)

An expansion pack? is that what you meant?

Basically, it's what FC was, but better. it's just an expansion pack.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

I would get Intel dual core instead of X2 series.

You are right I guess for the top segment but I am not so sure for the main segment:

E6600 is the sweetspot for budget PC's.

I'd get E4300. It's half the price and they all can reach at least 3.0 GHz with 333 MHz FSB which means you don't need expensive RAM or motherboard either. Less cache doesn't amount to much.

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Annoyed by my posts? Please consider donating. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!

I would like to eat my words but I would call "snow balls chance in hell" on that one...

They do that and a OC'd Nehalem Quad server could host a Red Flag event (80+ pilots) with anything goes (illumination flares etc...,) Radar sweeps galore, and all armor and ships moving....

You could finally just start throwing the ready made Battalions into missions and put them on the move LOL

AHHHHHH ED do it!!!!
