Have you read Black Aces High by Robert Wilcox?

Also, where did you get Shaw's Fighter Combat in print?

I haven't read that no but I will check it out, thanks.

I got Shaw's Fighter Combat from eBay a few years ago now. I also have the PDF.

Thanks for the recommendation.

It is good. I have that along with the F/A-18 one. At first I thought they were going to be a bit gimmicky but in fact are insisghtfull and very interesting. I should have expanded the photo they are just to the left on an other shelf.

Fighter Combat was reprinted some years ago, I think in the very year I bought it, 2008. You can still find it on Amazon at affordable prices.

I have a small collection of books on the subject of combat aviation but not much about the Tomcat. Can anyone recommend any good books to read about the F-14?

Feet Wet by Paul Gilchrist is okay.

If you want fiction, I enjoyed the Punk's War trio by Ward Carrol and Sweetwater Gunslinger 201 by W.H. LeBarge.

If you want more of pictorial type reference books let me know and I can give you a fair sized list I found somewhere.

Salute,

Punk

I agree with you about Raven.

One book that isn't on the shelf as I am reading it at the moment is "Fast Movers" by John Darrell. A really good book about pilots in Vietnam.

Vipers in the Storm is superb and I have read that many times.
