Taken from the Super Hornet's NATOPS but the throttle functionality is identical bar the dispense switch.

Sounds like the real axis function works almost exactly like a two way hat.

When Wags gets back I will talk to him if there is any sort of center function in the real thing. I am guessing no, or its still WIP.

Hi,

Any news on the absolute axis for Radar Elevation Antenna?

With the TGP it's used for "Zoom", but it's just not working as most of us have non-spring loaded rotarys/slider axis. Please look in to it!

Sorry guys this got a little lost in the weeds.

SO basically people want some way to easily center the radar elevation after moving it?

The hope is that an absolute axis will make this easier for some to recenter?

Am I getting that right?

We just want an "normal" axis that goes +/- & center is in in the middle.

Think of Mig-29, F-15, Su-27 Radar Elevation or zoom axis .

No auto center is necessary or "fancy stuff", since we can see the center on the Radar or TGP display.

Right now the "Radar Elevation Antenna - in Axis controls" only works correctly if you have the TM FA-18c stick, that has the centering spring.

On the real FA-18C that switch is on the front of throttle.

But TM put it on the stick "the little wheel on the front of stick" this "wheel" is spring loaded, it goes back to center if you let go.

So for us with normal axis/sliders that don't have the "spring snapping to center device" the "Radar Elevation Antenna - in Axis controls" doesn't work correctly.

So just a normal axis please!

Thank you for looking in to it .

That one isn't even an axis AFAIK. If it was, it would be suitable. Basically, since the desired function is a relative axis, we'd need a spring loaded one on our devices. Since most don't have one or are not willing to free up the TDC ministick for that, having the function as an absolute axis as well would help out, even though this would not be realistic. But neither are most of our input devices.

We simply want an absolute axis like in the F15,SU27 etc, so we can use the rotary of many HOTAS for radar elevation without having to play with a huge dead zone in the center.
