Umm, Shepski, is it possible to disable the kill/crash/whatever messages as a server-side difficulty option?

I personally really don't like those.

This is true, but if it's a selectable 'difficulty feature' like the minihud on the server-side then at least those who run servers and don't like it can turn it off.

. . . Modelling 3d-animated ground personnel is a little thing?

What about the performance hit?

I understood what you tried to say. What im trying to say is that, you get a new feature and then someone comes and says that doesnt like it. Dont take me wrong GGTharos, and I also dont it will be hard to put an option like one of those you said.

But since you are talking about the difficulty menu, why not put a new menu after clicking the "host" button, and show the hoster what he wants and doesnt want? Would be cool. 8)

There should at least be a delay of few minutes after the event. Being instantly told your missle attack was sucessful is problematic...realitywise.

Hopefully it will possible to disable the messages when running trks. They will seriously uglify the playbacks and movies.

Umm... you can already tell if your missiles hit the target, you just have to check your score before you fire, and afterwards, see if it goes up lol these new "player killed player" won't change much... score increments should be delayed by maybe 30 seconds or so (or if end of game increment immediately) so that we can't "watch the score to see if we hit"...

ED is going to change forums engine soon, to provide member ability to chose a language and, probably, forum skin.

as for now - at the bottom of the thread you can see a two big buttons - second one is "reply"

"There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general: recklessness, which leads to destruction; cowardice, which leads to capture; a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults; a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame; over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble." I agree. And it would be good if the page-navigation for the thread appeared at the bottom as well as at the top of the page.

im probley going to play ghost recon 2 , they are dropping the emenance has eliminated "enemy" from the game play so no confermation will be given on a kill.

since i have been play rouge spear and ghost recon from the binning arounbd 1998 I am kinda going to be missing the confirmation as i am very used to getting it esp useing explosives around blind corners or something.

really i havent made up my mind about it.

regarding lock on since i am a new serious player a confirmation of a kill seems to me not something so very important since i usually get visual confirmation anyway .....true i still kinda suck but sometimes i pull off some amazing kills after shaking an enemy and his missles.....however there are sometimes when your just not quite so sure about a hit and most times they are in far site but just not sure maybe they still can fly ya know?

im glad you guys are adding confirmation but im probley not as happy to see it as sorry i am to miss it in ghost recon.

owell just my thoughts

This was discussed at great length on the Ubi forum soon after LockOn came out. There was a strong view that the Russian countermeasures were too effective' date=' and that this was the main cause of the difficulty in getting a lockon in the F-15.[/quote']

Accurate ECM modelling is a special challenge, considering the nature of the subject, but v1.1 attempts to balance the matter a bit better.

For one thing, the Russian fighters will now see the ECM strobe in the HUD just like the F-15C, thereby not knowing target range.

ECM burn-through normally occurs at around 13 nm in v1.1 (last I checked) for both F-15 and Su-27 but in order to avoid radio interference with their own launched SARH missiles, fighters normally switch off their ECM earlier, at the moment of missile launch. So in an offensive duel situation e.g. F-15 vs Su-27 the ECM becomes less of a factor, ECM is more used defensively.

Maybe can help against Russian jammers?

Thanks for the helpful response, Swingkid. And sorry for the delay. Good news that there's been some work on this for 1.1 . What do you think about my other point in that earlier post, though:

"Finally, in the broader picture, I think there was a view that the US planes were at an urealistic environment in relation to countermeasures overall. Because there's no modelling in the game of the US jammer planes that are usually present in the combat environment. This benefits the Russian side, who have their superior on-board jammers, but don't have to face the effects of the specialist US jamming planes.

Not sure how the last problem can be fixed within the current LockOn engine. But since it's related to the other problems, I thought it was worth mentioning. "

As I said, I'm not sure if this can be dealt with in the LockOn engine. But it's worth considering, I would have thought...

Shepski, would "they" be interested in upgrading the A-10 to the PE configuration? Our first test install (Eglan AFB) will roll out on the 29th of this month....the A-10C is almost here! :D

So this radio interference isn't the case when launching an ARH?

In regards to the new kill messages: What information is shown? Just kills or does it also display info such as landing/takeoffs? Also, are a2g and AI a2a kills shown?

Are there any changes to the scoring system? I'm curious to know if the new military installions for the editor will get points.

Thanks ED for listening to all of us, the kill messages are a much welcome addition to Lomac!!

Re: Details of v1.1 Flaming Cliffs

*This post will be updated with new information periodically.*

-Air to ground capability for the Su-27... dumb bombs, KMGU canisters, and rockets.

-Multiplayer will now show text on the screen of battle action in terms of kills, ejections, crashes, and landings. For example: "Shepski(Su-27) kill SwingKid(F-15C) with R-27R"

-Ability to have avi's play immediately prior to mission start so all missions can now have user made movies integrated into them.

Cheers!

Beautiful. :supz:

sorry for late reply, Greenies.

I suggest you to edit your forum profile and select "subSilver" skin. It looks excellent, it has all buttons in English and finally you shell see a "reply" button and page navigation at the bottom as well as at the top.
