The new clouds, which you need to enable via a file, look like they got heavily degraded compared to the version long ago when the Viggen came out.

In the attachment you can see the latest Version of them with the F-14 in the pic and the version long ago with the Viggen in it.

Dude, fancy keying us into what the file/edit is? Quite fancy having a sneak peek at what's been worked on.

DCS World 2 OpenBeta\Config\Effects folder clouds.lua (backup this file before editing, messing with this will affect multiplayer IC)

useOPSClouds = false

useEdgeClouds = true

seems these are just placeholder clouds, we shouldn't even be looking at them :)

Maybe there is a reason why they are not enabled by default, yet?

IIRC from Wags' interview on the Fighter Podcast, first priority is getting the humidity system integrated into the weather engine, and then they're going to use that to create a new cloud generation system. I'm sure it'll look fantastic once they've got it all working.

This is a heads-up thread for ED, not a how-to thread :D

There are already some posts out there in which you find what you search for

Thanks for the clarification. :helpsmilie:

Of course, they're WIP. But a Feedback is still useful, no?

Maybe. But as the feature is not enabled yet, ED is probably very well aware of what and where it needs improvement.

Hi

I've just try these new clouds. They're a little bit repetitive.

I quickly returned to the defaut clouds.

CPU: I7-6700K 4Ghz, GC: nVidia GeForce Titan X Gigabytes, 32 Go DDR4, Motherboard: Gigabytes Z170X-Gaming 3. OS: W10-Family, 3 HD Samsung SSD 850 Pro 1TB + 1 Samsung SSD EVO 500 Gb. Oculus Rift CV1

DCS really needs better weather etc, so many clear blue skies and the odd cloud around just isnt anywhere near realistic.

I'd say the current, in game clouds that we have look better than either of these examples.
