Mustang Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 btw, to mustang, how come your canopy glass is so dark? This is mine Hmm maybe its because i'm using Full shadows? i'll go an check that out :) BTW i'm running an X1950Pro w/Cat.7.9, whats your card? EDIT: i changed settings to full planar, now it looks like this, looks like another potential bug for Yeniceri to look at.
SuperKungFu Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 yea I'm running on a 7900 GS, graphics driver 165.01, i don't have full shadows on since i get that annoying full shadow bug, so its on full planar. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Yeniceri Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 Off-site backups? :D You bet :).. in setup where i model the hog.. there is a backup unit daily records the data on auto and stores on magna tapes :) this bad boy is going nowhere :) yeah...the damage model..frankly i was thinking about doing the unwrap first.. than skin than release it.. THAN do the damage model ...and update.. but i guess the fair thing is to let the community decide.. couse i dont know where should i begin about damage model.. i have no idea..I will have to work (read!) some for that.. about the dark glass.. it might be an ATI issue..The canopy material is default ED canopy glass material wich comes with LOM utils on plugin..But i sure would like to know how walmis did that canopy glass..Who else knows? TekaTeka maybe?.. Test crew.. You guys rock... I will write your names in spline and place it inside this model to stay forever :) (wich will add almost nothing to the model polygonwise) keep up the good work guys.. edit.. does anyone knows how the chute works? Highwayman-Ed Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Flares? Excellent stuff guys, I'm Sooo looking forward to this... Yaniceri, can I ask if it's possible to edit where flares are dispensed from? In the stock model they only come out of the wingtips, but I noticed in your super fantastic model  that you've included the dispensers at the rear of the wheel fairings on the wing.... 1 Intel i9-9900KF @5.2GHz MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR3200 RAM MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio 40" Panasonic TH-40DX600U @ 4K Pimax Vision 8K Plus / Oculus Rift CV1 / HTC Vive Gametrix JetSeat with SimShaker Windows 10 64 Bit Home Edition [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

warthogmadman987 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Yeniceri and myself were trying to decide if the stabalizers (if that is what they are) on the wings, in between the wheel housings and the fuselage move in real life. I have seen them in different positions. So we want to animate them if possible. Our question to the community was this- If they do move, how do the move and what are they associated with (flaps, airbrakes, elevators, or a combonation.) Any advice would help, since I havent been able to find any info on them.
Kuky Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 this is soooo FR***ING nice :D I am surprised and very pleased to this A-10 so nicely modeled... According to these photos: the slats extend 6 inches to allow increase airflow to the engines. So now the question is: is it possible to create this animation every time we put the aircraft into a high AOA? 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Highwayman-Ed Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 You guys are just frikkin awsome ;) can you animate the pilot grinning in the cockpit when he farts ? Yeniceri Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 You guys are just frikkin awsome ;) can you animate the pilot grinning in the cockpit when he farts ? I think there is an argument for that... I remember seeing it when i was searching for the "scratching the nuts" argument... On hi-g when he farts he will grin... After neg-g he will stracth the family jewels :) [sIGPIC]http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa200/misikci/41-imza-1.jpg[/sIGPIC] "To infinity...and beyond!.." SIM-MOD Modeler TURK!

According to these photos: the slats extend 6 inches to allow increase airflow to the engines. So now the question is: is it possible to create this animation every time we put the aircraft into a high AOA? 2 questions... 1.There are slats at the su-27.. the little ones in front of the main wing.. are they doing the same thing?.. 2.Also the front exhoust intakes of f-15.. are they related to this?.. if they are, we can attached their argument to these slats.. if they are not.. maybe we can pick the closest [sIGPIC]http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa200/misikci/41-imza-1.jpg[/sIGPIC] "To infinity...and beyond!.." thereminqblank Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 The slats on the Su-27 are probably there to stop the wings from stalling at AoA, rather than the engines. But it would be the same principle. "Unholy Roller" [sIGPIC]http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/userbars/A-10C_UserBar_01.gif[/sIGPIC]
Yeniceri Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 The slats on the Su-27 are probably there to stop the wings from stalling at AoA, rather than the engines. But it would be the same principle. well that seems to be the solution than... edit.. sorry.. not working.. the trigger speed for both arguments are way above the a-10's max speed.. they keep their initial state no matter what the speed or AOA is..(open or close) I can attach it to flaps. That way when the aircraft is try'n to survive at the slow speed ( and the flaps are needed/opened ) those air intakes will open..Otherwise they will stay close.. what do you think? zaelu Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Couldn't they be linked to the animation of contrails which apears only in high AoA? Or that one isn't linked to the airplane model? GGTharos Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I do believe that the Su-27's slats and flaps are linked into the AoA or speed...but that might be the parameter that isn't working for Yeniceri. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
SuperKungFu Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 yea and i don't think its possible to change the speed for the Su-27 arg because its hard coded. And if it was possible, i think we might screw up the Su-27 in the process. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
