As a not big fan of Online LO, I use it frequently. Sometimes, I don't have much time to fiddle with Editor and I just use FBP and jump right in the cockpit.

IMO it would be a shame if it wasn't included. I say even if it'll cost 2 months, do it and bring us a complete game. We've waited extra 1.5 years, 2 months won't hurt much ;)

wow... there is a similar thread in the russian forum' date=' and it looks just exactly as this one, and the answers are the same).[/quote']Mr. Chizh is the author so you can imagine that he wants to cut some work to give us BS sooner. But first he ask us - that's very fair, isn't it?

Fair, but maybe of questionable use . . .

You can argue that the forums don't represent the majority of simmers.

Our little band of more vocal enthusiasts are very much dedicated to Lomac/FC and put a lot of time into it.

The less vocal simmers, or those who don't put so much time in for whatever reason, aren't heard in polls like this . . . . so it'll inevitably be skewed towards the more hardcore simmer.

Let's put it this way - it's all too easy to imagine a PC Gamer or SimHQ review including the line "I can't believe the developers didn't include a single mission generator . . . . "

I might not use it, or if it's implemented well I might use it a lot to get fresh missions. But I think Black Shark would suffer from it's absence.

But we represents the simmers community. We don't have same view on every case. Besides, it gives only approximate overall view. Decision still lays in ED hands.

much nicer would be if ED could allow tool developers to use Lo-Mac API to create, import/export missions which would aid in the ability to have some form of dynamic campaigns.

I also use the FBP a lot! For a lot of reasons,

- for fun

- for quick offline A2A

- for training

- for testing a lot of things, like missile deployment, manoevres etc.

Don't do away with it, it is essential I think to novice users and casual gamers who might get an interest in this game. They might not be voting in this forum.

If you further drop the gaming aspect and go for the simulation market, you will be forced to adapt your prices by factor 100 because your market will be much, much smaller. I wonder how the hardcore fans will react then, when they will have to pay the economic viable price for their niche product.

I guess this is the reason you integrated features like Easy radar.

IMHO the FBP could be scrapped but the quick fly missions from the first menu could use a randomiser. I mean, you choose your plane and the game randomise your starting point (could be on ground maybe), the mission and the failures.

This way the casual player wouldn't be bored in the first tries cause he taste the complexity of the game somehow quick enough.

I honestly believe that Black Shark needs a dynamic campaign generator, just to keep people occupied when they can't be bothered to build new missions themselves - after all, not everyone is going to want to dig into it.
I agree! ;)

I'd rather have ED spend time on the full mission editor (and game engine features like triggers) then spending time on the FBP...

The FBP creates very simple missions which you can create yourself in the full mission builder in a minute or two. Not much added value. (btw, I'm lobbying for a more powerful full mission editor :D)

The provided answers clearly show that Chizh is asking for a personal opinion. Not a guess as to what someone else might think. Every possible answer says "I".

On the Russian forum, Chizh clarified that his intention is not to ask if it is worth investing time into the FBP in terms of comparative resources, but simply what the demand is for such a feature.

I personally haven't made a single use of the thing, literally. But I was also very familiar with the ME design and was probably able to make quick test missions faster than going through the FBP. For a newcomer, a well designed quick mission generator is a nice feature to have, IMO.

For the purposes of the poll though, I will vote based on my own experience.

This was very valuable for me when I first played lock on, especially before I figured out the mission editor. Please keep it, I don't use it any more, but new commers (Like my self a year ago) would really appreciate it. We're all about a growing community, correct?

My 2 cents.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

I think this is a great idea!

I see the FBP as a Fly Now feature. If you want to fly a premade mission where units are strategically placed but you don't want to make it yourself, you can open one of the missions that ships with BS. If you want to make one yourself, use the Mission Editor. BUT if you just want to fly the A-10 and bust some tanks, hit the FLY! button under the picture of the A-10. :)
