Always said this is what happens when we pre pay for items. They took guys off the testing to go fart around with some other project instead of concentrating on the task at hand. Once they have our money in their hand before a project is complete, we are at the mercy of their timeline.

This is standard procedure for all Testers on deck for a product release. JSOW needs some extra time, I highly doubt the Testers would have done anything more than confirming it needed extra time, so let's hold the conspiracy theories.

I hope it's "guys" not just one guy (part time)... <high deflection snap shot>

It's not really standard to tell users they're getting functionality in the next patch then 4 hours later retract it... what's standard is to have your teams on the same page about what's in a product release. #SCRUM

Where did we say 4 hours ago that it was in the next patch?

Netline there’s no need get agitated and snarky. Matt did a mini update yesterday/this morning that was closely tied to his previous mini update and announcement of OB update this week.

Clearly people are going to be upset that yet again a new feature has been delayed, with no new hornet content now for almost 2 months.

ED community communication at the moment is frustrating.

How was that question snarky? And we are literally communicating with you right now, because you dont like the communication is not really our fault. We are holding JSOW because it needs more time in the oven, had we released it, it would have been a bunch of posts about how its not ready...

I'm a bit disappointed too and think ED should concentrate their manpower on finishing their products quicker. But hey, at least they are transparent and honest about what they're doing.

All the people that can work on the Hornet are working on the Hornet, throwing more people at it wont make it happen faster.

NL is not being snarky, we are generally curious where such a statement was made four hours ago.

When creating the video, I was very deliberate in not saying when we expect the JSOW to go to OB. Mainly because several items were still being worked on over the weekend, and not until this morning did we have a good feel for the status of the feature and its risk potential of being buggy or breaking other game elements. As such, after careful evaluation, we feel it best to give it a full week of testing once our internal testers have completed their A-8 testing.

Thanks

Thanks for keeping us updated even though things didn't progress as fast as initially intended. Again, I really appreciate the transparency.

Does that mean 2.5.5 build is delayed as well?

I also appreciate the openness and communication. Am I disappointed not to play around with the JSOW Wednesday evening? Yes I am. And I am sure ED fully understands the disappointment.

But I also appreciate to be able to play around with the Hornet for another week without any bigger issues that came from a hurried implementation and some skipped testing for a new feature/weapon. I certainly don‘t want to get the JSOW when that means I‘ll get CTDs whenever I try to drop a JDAM or when I fire a HARM or when the waypoint system will not work correctly anymore. Then better keep the JSOW in the oven a bit longer...

It's a tough call, but we'll grin and bear. Can I have my targeting pod as a gift for waiting an extra week? :D

Wags 06-03-2019, 04:19 PM: As such, we'll need to postpone to the 12 June OB.

It's AM and PM so it's not 4 but 16 hours.

But he also said: Because our test team has been focused on the Fw 190 A-8 release ...

which means, the test team was testing the next plane and not focusing on the older F/A-18

Although I am not 100% sure on 2.5.5 right now, this is not going to delay the patch should it be ready. Was that vague and non-commiteal enough? lol...

And plans change just like that

Anyone working with any sort of development project knows things will change on the fly.

Better get used to taking everything with a pinch of salt

As said above, the rest of us will grin and bear it.

Bashing NL, Wags or ED wont get it done any faster.

I'm not that disappointed we're not getting the JSOW and I don't mind waiting for extra internal testing, I actually welcome it.

But I am a little disappointed that testers who could've been working on the Hornet were allocated towards another new aircraft, while the Hornet is still in development.

That said, I don't know (and neither does anyone else) how ED works internally and perhaps this was the most efficient way to maximize productivity at the time. Software projects like that are complicated and dynamic. I also appreciate the honesty and transparency (could've just said "It's not ready" and leave it at that). It's more important to me than waiting an extra week.

I respect ED and I will always support their products, but I think that ED are debtors to DCS community. Almost two months and still nothing new for Hornet. Thats why it will be great If they surprise us and reward us for our patience and for 12.06 OB update we have both JSOW and TGP.

I think this is correct.
