Dear ED and all third party developers,

I would humbly ask that one of you please please please model the A6M5 asn there is only one all orginal still flying. while it may not be the sexiest aircraft of world war two it was definatly iconic and influential. As there is only one more flying in Chino i would ask that a sim of this caliber model the aircraft for future generations and referance to an extent. This aircraft was a major player in world history. And lets be honest the Japanese deserve their predominant warbird be imortalized at this level of Detail. while i love the current warbirds with the F4U on the way it needs an op for and the zero should be it and there is only one left ... just one ... the last. come on guys respect your enemy or honor your countrys veterans not all wars are good or won but veterans are the people who put their lives on the line for the beleifs of your country at the time of the conflict. Do the ventearns proud and build a living digital statue of an Icon of WW2.

No. Because the Zero doesn’t fit in Normandy 1944 and I wonder if sufficient documentation exists for it in order to model it to DCS standards.

Bf 109 K4 doesn't fit Normandy '44. Fw 190 D9 doesn't fit Normandy '44. The upcoming F4U doesn't fit Normandy '44. None of the Cold War jets or modern jets fit Normandy (obviously). This argument holds no water.

Some remarks:

- ED has making 2 new maps based on WW2 on west front Now.

- One of them can fit properly with Bf-109K4, Fw-190D-9 and other aircraft's by ED talk.

- Normandy has not a ED map, has build by Ugra-Media 3rd party

- Leatherneck / Magnitude 3 F4U-1 Corsair was initially planned with a "Iwo Jima" map, now on hold and waiting news.

- Cold War can "fit" with Normandy if them can use on a hypothetical "Cold War" turn Hot Soviet invasion reaching to Atlantic waters. Remember the Korean war was on 50s, five years after WW2 and NATO countries was making combat drills over channel with Cold war starting.

Remember, WW2 has not only "Normandy", has full speed to open new content. About a A6M5, that can fit with the Iwo Jima map and other ED and 3rd party map can build in a future when the pacific theatre will be open, and, mediterranean, east front surely more in the future. The same situation with Korean, Vietnam, etc on cold war. Has only a matter of time.

Yes it should be up for consideration at some point, I'm not saying it should take immediate priority, but yes definitely something that should be considered.

As for the map thing, what? Somebody please tell me what map the AJS-37 fits on... The argument that the aircraft doesn't fit the map is quite frankly ridiculous.

They’re close enough. They’re western front European.

If and that’s if we ever get an F4U and a pacific theater map and if there’s sufficient documentation for a Zero then sure I would be in favor of one.

I would be more than happy to see it in DCS but only once we get a Pacific theater and associated US planes.

So basically it’s dead.

“Only a matter of time”

Yes, these maps will each take 4 years to make and then spend another 2 years in extended Early Access Beta. So what you just described will take 42 years to complete.

Have you complained about the lack of a Nordic map yet? We have the Viggen, after all.

And ED and other 3rd parties can´t work on "parallel" projects? or only can build one DCS map at time?. Remember:

- NTTR 2015

- NTTR first expansion 2016

- Caucasus 2.0 2016

- Caucasus 2.5 2018

- Persian Gulf 2018

- Persian Gulf expansion 2019

3rd parties

Normandy: 2017

1-2 Maps by year, and incoming 6 maps, 3 of them to WW2. Add 3 more planned.

This is what I was thinking, I mean yeah apart from airshows the only place the Viggen has been is in the Baltic (which yes, I would do anything for that map), I mean correct me if I'm wrong but I can't see anything online about the AJS-37 participating in Red Flag or anything else in the NTTR, certainly wasn't around in 1944 Normandy, Caucasus? Nope. Straits of Hormuz? Nope.

The Viggen fits well enough into all the modern era maps

A Zero doesn’t really have a fit anywhere. I do think all DCS aircraft should have a map and campaign to go along with them.

So make a Pacific theater map to go with it. But Pacific theater WWII sims have a host of problems like not enough info for the Japanese aircraft.

The NTTR map was announced in.. 2011? And it wasn’t released into the stable version until maybe 2017. I can’t even recall the dates because they take so long.

Maps in DCS take FOREVER to develop.

I really do enjoy DCS a lot though but I focus on what’s there right now to use, not dreaming about content that won’t be ready for half a decade.

Dreaming about content.... The same "claim" tell on 2012 about DCS. And NTTR show on 2011 has not the same we get actually. Has drop from old LOMAC / FC-3 build from a 3rd party, and make by ED from the scratch on the new terrain engine technology EDGE to 2.0.

No, it doesn't. The navigation computer can't even work (realistically) in Nevada or PG.

Ok so it doesn’t fit. That just reinforces the point. All aircraft for DCS should have suitable maps.

Perhaps the Viggen wasn’t a good choice to develop.
