Care to elaborate? Real military pilots, e.g. Jello from Fighter Pilot Podcast, have said they hear that's exactly how they filmed it. And he's clearly in a real jet in a lot of those scenes doing real G's. You think he's in the front seat? No way in hell.

Well from my short research today it appears it will be June 2020 before it hits the theaters by then we should be able simulate most flight in the movie,.

They will never put him in the front seat during flying shots, he will only see the front seat during stationary external shots (getting in and out).

 

All internal flying scenes, he's in Back seat or a mockup cockpit in a green screen room.

 

The P-51 Shots were also back seat.

Come on, how is it possible for an actor to be put in front seat of a military fighter?!?! Only in the CGI scenes or if the plane is stationary on the carrier, otherwise he is in always the rear seat. If I'm not wrong is a real Mustang pilot and owner.

Every Cockpit shot is a dash mounted IMAX camera system on the WSO instrument hood, you can tell its the WSO seat by his position in relation to the Leading Edge Root Extensions.

 

I prolly have more Hours in a Super Hornet Pilot Seat than Tom Cruise Does.
