Zylon Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Like mu110 said, the cage/uncage button. But you have to make sure MasterArm is on first.
flyingscotsman Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Thanks for that, C worked for me, the pod seemed to be looking far right out of the star, could not see anything, until I found this
Mule Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Yep, with the addition of a pod another part of situation awareness is the added ability to know what your TPOD is looking at in relation to where you are and where you are going. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
Akula Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 Thanks guys. On a side note, I hope to finally drop A bomb soon. It seems no matter how I try to configure it all, the bombs don't fall. Flir on. codes set on all GBU's to 1688 as well as the FLIR. MA on set to AG. Target chosen but not locked, "memory" cue flashes.... Set it to Auto, CCIP and still, no drop. Can't wait for a Laobi tutorial Edit; yes, the switch next to FLIR is also ON. You mean that you have Master Arm On, have a picture on the TGP, A/G mode, designated a Target point via the TGP with TDC Depress, get the diamond on the HUD and the AUTO release line, keep the pickle button pressed as the release cue crosses the FPM and the bomb still won't drop? Also, you need to flip the LTD/R switch to ARM (you can only do that in A/G mode), box TRIG option on the FLIR page and keep the trigger pulled to fire the laser. Akula Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 Try this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4001019&postcount=172 Thanks Backy, worked like a charm! I think what most people may be missing (because even with my knowledge of the MFD's and UFC I missed it) are the following steps. 16- Conduct standard LGB AUTO attack. Line up velocity vector with ASL and hold down weapon release button [RALT + Spacebar] shortly before bomb fall line passes through the velocity vector. 17- At 15 seconds before Time To Impact (TTI), press and hold trigger button [spacebar] to fire the laser. In general, conduct attack between 20-25k at no less than 350kts. Basically, you drop the bombs first and THEN you activate the laser to tell the bombs where to go. It kinda gets lost in the set of instructions when most people think it's simply a matter of pressing the "pickle" button and you're done. Nealius Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Confirmation: Master Arm must be ON for the cage/uncage function to work on the TPOD? Today while RTB I was trying to boresight the TPOD but my HUD would just cage/uncage despite having the FLIR page SOI.

Come to Ottawa for your free beer!!!! :megalol: That is the exact procedure I use and always did. With the A-10 You can set "Autolase" it will automaticly sart lasing 8 sec before bomb impact (TTI). But the GBU's are still released too late to track the laser. Solution is to use either CCIP or start to dive 10-30° 20-30 sec before autorelease and then level out after bom has been dropped. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. Solution is to use either CCIP or start to dive 10-30° 20-30 sec before autorelease and then level out after bom has been dropped. In the A-10C I basically always used the auto-lase option but I always changed the auto-lase time from the default 8s prior impact to 12s. That got me a decent hit rate north of 95% I‘d say. Since we release the GBUs usually at higher speeds in the Hornet compared to the Hog the 15s sounds very reasonable to me but I didn‘t had much time to drop LGBs recently in the Hornet.

Solution is to use either CCIP or start to dive 10-30° 20-30 sec before autorelease and then level out after bom has been dropped. We'll get autolase later, it's also a feature in the Hornet. As far as the AUTO release is concerned, I haven't had issues myself, but keep in mind that releases are designed so that the bomb impacts well beyond the target area, if it ends up losing/not acquiring guidance. Maybe a little too much in our case, but still. I personally have success with level AUTO releases with LGBs 90%-95% of the time, but honestly, I don't know what's different in my case. Top Jockey Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Thank you guys. Hey all, is there a KB command to center the TGP? I can't find it. The Cage/Uncage button should do the trick, it moves the TGP to boresight. Hello everyone, Just decided to try yesterday for the first time, the much awaited TGP to employ the LGBs... obviously run into some dificulties. The biggest (and practically only one) was that I wasn't managing to effectively point the FLIR to the target area, as the TDC made the FLIR move to anywhere but the target location... because I didn't know one has to center the TGP first of all. My question is: Why not mention somewhere the importance of this ? Like for instance at: - the game manual; - https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4001019&postcount=172 When is a proper TGP manual coming ? I’m going to guess once integration of the TGP is complete. What we have now is still very WIP and is missing all the relevant HUD symbology to tell you where the TGP is pointing. Once that stuf is done I’m guessing the manual will get updated. What we have now is still very WIP and is missing all the relevant HUD symbology to tell you where the TGP is pointing. Once that stuf is done I’m guessing the manual will get updated. Before then RedKite is always a good option: ... Ok makes sense, and I was forgeting that there are certainly more features / implementations to the TGP - however even the existing ones are already a big enjoyment for me. The issue was, I was thinking that the TGP's center (boresight) was when the small dot was centered with the cross symbol (at FLIR screen)... instead, the small dot must be placed near the top edge of FLIR screen. (So I wasn't seing anything remotely close to the target area, neither the FLIR line of sight was moving at a straight line.) And thank you for the new tutorial Deano !
