They still need a time-frame update. Almost all of the flagship modules are early 2000s era, with infantry stuck in the '80s-'90s. The US phased out M84 BDUs in the early 2000s. The Russian units look like they're wearing Ukrainian camo, and the AKS-74 was replaced by the AK-74M in 1991.

Eh fair enough, though I still think we should keep '80s '90s infantry units, the main thing for me is to get rid of the attack of the clones thing going on. Different weapons, different camouflage schemes.

Just please please please spare me the UCP abomination! Either go OCP/Multicam or stick with M81/Woodland which still is authorized for select units. Or go MARPAT.

Ucp was pretty unique.

Whilst the rl ucp kinda sucked due to not blending in any environment it's really could have been saved if only they changed the shades. I had custom ucp style fatigues for paintball, and they looked like what ucp should have been for the us army.

wasted potential, because otherwise digital style pattern camps are more modern than utilizing traditional patterns hence why I never liked multiam in spite of it being more effective in camo than ucp.

The models though, the new models for the world war era look fantastic, basically it would be brilliant to have modern models looking on par with the world war models and yes I do agree a platoon with variety for Russia and US would be extremely pleasing not only for the eye but for immersion too.

The WW2 infantry are worse than the modern infantry. All riflemen, no sub-machine gunners, squad gunners, or anti-tank. The US infantry is all airborne without standard infantry units, and the airborne uniform is quite inaccurate.

I’m not worried about the micro detail I just want the soldiers to get an update.

Just hope they don't have Pong Krell as their Jedi General and all should be fine.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

On the flip side

Hmmmm

Personally, while maybe not at the top of my priority list, I think this is a pretty decent suggestion, infantry is incredibly limited in DCS, it would improve troop transports and CA a bit, especially for players directly controlling vehicles (okay, it's a niche and not an overwhelmingly popular one that hasn't improved much since it's debut but whatever) a good start would be adding dedicated JTACs, maybe something like a mortar team or I don't know Rapier operators. There probably should be infantry for the main players in DCS theatres and it would be good if we got different equipment for them, not just the same weapon. There was mention of starting stance (would be fairly useful) etc.

Also I was wrong, the insurgent infantry unit, the Russian infantry unit (infantry soldier Rus) and I think the Stinger got upgrades, not US.
