Alfa Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) I'm seeing canarads faceing down on rightmost plane and side by side cockpit but my eyes might be lieing to me :( Thats also the plane I am looking at - it is a little difficult to see on that photo. But I think I can just make out the bort# 20, which would make it this plane: Photo(Planespotters.net) from Saki 2010. Edited August 12, 2012 by Alfa JJ

marcos Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Found this video on the Su-25. Think it has a TM variant at the end:
mikoyan Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Syrian MIG-23 down I’m surprised no one posted this!
Corrigan Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I wonder what they hit it with. Small arms too unlikely? Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
mikoyan Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) I wonder why all the mig-23 shoot down on youtube fly like sitting ducks; they just go low and slow without any regard for their safety. The syrian government says it was a failure; but it looks like it was hit by antiaircraft guns. Now that I look at it; is that a two seater mig-27? Is there a two seats mig-27? or is it one of those mig-23 hybrids? Edited August 14, 2012 by mikoyan
ED Team Groove Posted August 14, 2012 ED Team Posted August 14, 2012 Wathcing several videos from syria im actually wondering that this one is the first one they hit. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en

Jona33 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Very poor quality. :D Anyway, hope the pilot;s ok, what's happening there isn't their fault, and is this definitely real? Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
Demokrator Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Wow someone needs to teach these rebels how to use a camera. :D Someone needs to teach these syrian flyboys how to fly over damn battlefield.

tflash Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 And the Rafale is no lame duck either! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I also think it was MiG-27...video quality is poor but I think it had no oval radome... And yes this seems to be the first one they got. I heard ony small arms fire no AAA here. Official statement was a tecnical difficulty during training flight... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 And the Rafale is no lame duck either! cool! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Wow someone needs to teach these rebels how to use a camera. :D These rebels could spend some money for decent phone if they wanna record such things and publicize it. :P Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
marcos Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Someone needs to teach these syrian flyboys how to fly over damn battlefield. At least they've moved up to MiGs, older footage was showing them in L-39s a few weeks back.

marcos Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 ^Looking at the F-22 tail at 0.23, the inner part of the tail seems to be painted darker. Is this the paint or an effect produced by something stretched over the paint?
Pilotasso Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) Cammo paint reflects colors depending on lighting conditions. I had aircraft nacelles at work that looked white under the headlights but they were actually dark grey. People were asking who was in charge of the white engine nacelles, "what white engine nacelles they are all grey" this is donne purposedely by design. It makes model kit rather difficult, some times store owners get the color wrong when i purchase paints, because they are looking at internet photos under various times of the day and angles of incidence.
