In a world depending on fossil energies, the Solar Impulse project is a paradox, almost a provocation: it aims to have an airplane take off and fly autonomously, day and night, propelled uniquely by solar energy, right round the world without fuel or pollution. Dunno if this will help you, topol-m. http://www.aviapedia.com/documentation/su-27-family-visual-differences-table

Off-set trackball seems to one of the ways to differentiate. That is between Su-27 and Su-27sm/Su-35.

Sometimes planes taxi with single engine as this shortens the "scramble time". Sometimes asymmetrical trust is being used for better steering during taxi. It's hard to tell isthe engine idling or completely cold!

VVS do single-engine taxis or something?
