Nice pics, that is insane!

Just saying though, if I was sitting as a civvie in the back of that Helldiver(?), with the wing-over at the same height as the weeds, there'd be a mighty brown stain left in the seat after.

How low can You go?

In DCS it might be easy. Somewhere around version 08 I managed to float an A-10 off of the coast of Batumi for a few seconds. With more speed it probably wouldn't have sunk. :D

If you're referring to the aircraft in the previous post they are T-6 Texans/Harvards :)

A friend of a friend scored us a ride in an Agusta A109S. Here is a 7.5 minute vid (condensed from the 20 minute flight) showing departure, enroute along the Carmel coast, and landing. No music or epic video editing. Enjoy the sights and sounds.

Nice video ... :D

What the hell was going on there? Where was the normal gun aiming sight?

Looked entertaining although difficult to see what was happening.

I've wondered, why do some aircraft have up to 3 GPS systems like here on the top part of the panel? All Garmin, propably NAV/COM and I've even seen some have two exactly the same big ones and one of the small ones.

As it said in the captions on the video, most of the clips were of HARS (ie manual using backup systems, nothing but the depressible pipper) deliveries.

The middle display is not a GPS, it's TCAS and Color Weather Radar (also it's Bendix-King, not Garmin). The other two GPS's (a 430 and a 530) are NAV/COM1 and NAV/COM2.

Shouldn't he know you got CCIP invalid if your FPM's above the horizon, happens to me anyway.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Thanks, that makes sense! I assume there are no traditional NAV/COM systems and these are only ones in use? Asking this because usually these Garmin GPS/COM's have been just retrofitted to GA aircraft and the additional COM is just a "bonus" to the existing ones.

Very nice video and views (jealous)! I hear pilots really like that chopper.

Yeah, the Garmin GPS/COM units typically replace (or are the only) comm radios in the aircraft. Even in most GA aircraft (in my experience anyway) the GPS/COM takes one of the COM/NAV slots, so you still end up with just two radios.

Not sure who had the question (too lazy to quote the right person I suppose) but the G-1000 and other standard GA glass sets usually feature two multifunction units that include VHF COMM/NAV. (GIA 63/63W in the case of the G-1000) So it's all there, just behind the dash.

The same is true of smaller units like the ever popular GNS430... COMM/NAV is integrated, one per receiver. So, a G-1000 or a dual stack of GNS430 units would mean you've got two radios for a total of 4 selected COMM frequencies, 2 active, 2 inactive. They're used in the same way as classic COMM/NAV stacks: an inner/outer knob and flip-flop button. One each per radio. (FWIW I fly with the G-1000, GNS430, and Avidyne Integra pretty frequently.)
