FOr eg F15E is being made by Razbam, in such instance would result in forcing players have to buy preceding F15's made by another developer like ED. That is just not right.

If you notice, I am not talking about multiple different studios working different variants, but that one studio gets the rights to do the all variants of the given airframe.

But of course ED could allow someone else to do the another variant, but it will be then in full price, instead upgrade price for the customers. The point is that customers will get more variants for lower price when they are easier to make, like just avionics and some system modeling changes without touching at all the flight modeling (that is already explained by Wags itself in the interview to be the most challenging part that few can do).

And that would as well then be the major benefit for the studio to decide to get the rights for given airframe, as they are going to make the flight modeling from the start, instead having multiple studios all working with the same airframe flight modeling. Like in this case that ED has made PFM for F-15C, and now then other studio does F-15E PFM.

And no one would deny studios working together, cooperating in the development where example ED does Flight Modeling, and two different studios does the systems simulation and 3D modeling for cockpits. This way ED gets paid for the hard part, and other studios gets paid for the cockpits etc.

But again the customer would win as there would be more variants available, lower prices for smaller work and this way win-win situation for studios as well as they get quickly out the special variants too as they don't need to do FM each time.

I have started to generate the opinion that I would prefer more that ED and 3rd party studios would focus more for the old Cold War era aircrafts first.

meaning, make first the F-15A, then generate the upgrade licensed payware variant of F-15C, and then later the F-15E.

This way you get three modules, each payware and requiring previous one.

F-15A > F-15C > F-15E.

And now you have three versions, each can be set on specific era missions.

Su-27S > Su-27SKM > Su-27M (Su-35)

Mig-23S > Mig-23P > Mig-23MLA

Mi-24V > Mi-24P > Mi-24VP

Then anyone can get what ever they want, and newer just requires you pay like 69€ + 29€ + 29€ for the upgrades. So in total if you want that F-15E, you pay for it that 127€ in total.

Yes yes yes! I love it!

I think all FC3 aircraft are fantastic and it would be nice to have them with a clickable cockpit.

The F-15 is still in service but so are F-16, F-18, A-10 etc. The same goes for excellent planes like the Mig-29 or the various Sukhoi.

Before creating new modules from scratch it would be nice to have these in advanced version while keeping the simplified version for new simmers.

I'm hoping it's not an F-15C. I hope it's a military cargo plane.

bearing in mind that the F-15C is still in active service I highly doubt that such classified systems will be modeled in-depth. However, I consider it the Su-25A of the air with higher speeds, so I do share the interest in the analog aspect of the instruments cluster.

On that note, I'll give you  and +1

The F-15C has been changed dramatically over the years, besides, most of the aircraft in this game have classified capabilities that aren't necessarily modeled in game...like MIDS, LINK-16, IFF, ECM. All of these systems are highly classified yet they are in the game in an unclassified form...

Erm the F/A-18C was still in service with the USN, and is still in service with the USMC, and the F-16 is still in service with the USAF.

So "in service" is not really a reason not to, and is not the same thing as lacking access to reliable info, which is a more plausible reason not to make a module.

Also, no one said anything about an F-15C in it's current state, you could do an F-15C from 15 or 20 years ago, which is basically the rough timeframe of the F-15C we have, but with a clickable pit and some fixes and more in depth modelling.

So there is nothing that really stops a more complete F-15C from being made.

The Navy stopped using the F/A-18C for operational front line purposes in Feb 2019. It's only used for some training as an adversary aircraft and the Blue Angels are going Super Hornet in 2021...The Marines said they'll use it till the early 2030's, but I'm not sure if that's regular Hornet, or Super Hornet...

ED was developing the Hornet years before it was retired from the USN and there are also remaining export users of the legacy.

So the the theory thats it was only added to DCS because its "retired" doesn't hold up. WE also have A10C and F16C which are still in active duty service, latter of which still has hoards of export operators. Granted all "legacy" aircraft, and not the latest and greatest toys.

there is quite a bit if open source information on such systems, especially datalinks. Particularly Link 16 that you can model many aspects of applications of it it fairly accurately.
