MAXsenna Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 The Kiowa will not be discounted at launch. The price will be full. $70. That's the point! No EA or preorder, so it hits full price at launch. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 2

Unless Heatblur used any of the code or artwork from Belsimtek, I don’t think it’s accurate to combine the two efforts. But I guess it depends on the point each person is trying to make. 2

OK, but I’m gonna assume Heatblur started with their own code from scratch. So we can probably agree that the current F4 has been in development somewhere between three and seven years. Polychop said that the Kiowa will receive a better AI in the future to operate the weapons, so it would not be in a "complete" state, but rather in early access. And there is still the issue that @YoYo mentioned. The current AI, when active, makes the aircraft practically without physics. It practically turns it into an arcade aircraft. Until this is fixed. The aircraft should indeed be classified as early access. 1 |Motherboard|: Asus TUF Gaming X570-PLUS, |WaterCooler|: Corsair H115i Pro, |CPU|: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, |RAM|: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3200MHz DDR4, |SSD|: Kingston A2000 500GB M.2 NVMe, |SSD|: Kingston 2.5´ 480GB UV400 SATA III, |SSHD|: Seagate Híbrido 2TB 7200RPM SATA III, |GPU|: MSI Gaming 980Ti, |Monitor|: LG UltraWide 34UM68, |Joystick 1|: Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog, |Joystick 2|: T.Flight Rudder Pedals, |Head Motion|: TrackIr 5.

By your "very creative interpretation", the DCS A-10C and Ka-50, along with every other module would always be in Early Access, as they are still getting new features, better textures/3D- models and bugfixes. Name any module, that wasn't updated after release? Even FC3 got multiple additions... I understood Polychop's statement, as a release with all required features implemented in a playable state, no major bugs and what you would expect from a DCS module being "complete". After release, they will focus on bug fixing and looking into adding new features, if / as DCS World progresses. Keep in mind, they already deliver way more, than originally announced. The APKWS didn't even exist in DCS back then, Multicrew in Multiplayer was added during development and stuff like L2MUM was a complete positive surprise. Seeing the current flood of videos it definitely does look ready for a full release and not Early Access, with a bunch of features missing, systems still in development, etc. 1 Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)

There was a period where it was "on hold" after the ED/Belsimtek merger. I think it is fair to assume, there wasn't much development going on until Heatblur picked it up... though I don't know for sure. EDIT ah! now I see! That's a typo. It should be 14. July 2017, not 2014. I still said roughly, as there was an "on hold" period. I think Video compression, individual settings (especially from guys who mostly fly in VR) and maybe even test builds (Casmo mentioned in his last video) don't necessarily represent the final product on our individual systems. Anyway I am looking 99% inside the cockpit which looks pretty well done. Fingers crossed, the release is close. 5 Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)
