Livery Errors

On the 13th FS, you've used the fuselage from the 52nd FW USAFE jets. The 13th is PACAF and part of the 35th FW.

Also, the 14th FS skin has the patches of the 13th FS on the right intake, not the correct 14th ones.

Swapping these around and correcting the number issues, shouldnt take you guys more than an hour. Details gentlemen...

Oh man. I was looking forward to these. You would think that they would have figured out the National insignia. When the Viper first released it was wrong. And now with more skins, it’s still wrong. All is not lost however. Pretty sure most of these skins reside on the user files download section.

I've noted some specific errors:

Right-front nose number is reversed

sQitI2E.jpg

Left side tail number repeats the last digit twice instead of the middle digit.

However the right side of the tail works correctly:

Additionally, the skin will always use the bort number texture inside your installation folder of DCS.

This means you can't use another file unless you place it inside your installation folder. User-made skins that are placed inside your saved games folder cannot use a custom made font because of that.

why ED don't start a livery contest like for the Anton, so alot of great skinners with much freetime at the moment, can do it right.

It seems these skins are rushed out. I can wait for all additional skins, but please do it right.

Incorrect 14th FS Skin

Hello team,

Thank you for all of your hard work. However, the 14th FS skin introduced with the last update is very inaccurate. The right Fuselage has 2 13th Fighter Squadron emblems and the left side should only have the 35th FW patch and not the PACAF patch as well.

Thanks guys!

Probably because there is not a final Paint Kit yet...

Also, misalignment of the bort numbers's cut:

This is barely noticeable in normal liveries, but special colours that draws over the bort cuts are affected

It also seems like they only changed the tail artwork and some patches. All liveries still have the same base with the green-ish nose, while in real life those airframes have the grey nose and some other differences. I guess not a lot of time went into them...

same here, seem that the cuts made to bake the bort numbers surface are too distant from the original surface, they make some artifact in many views...

(yeah isn't the official livery, but it makes it easier to see the problem

Numbers over custom livery

Anybody knows how to get rid of these? They are not part of the custom livery and it seems its 2 or 3 textures over each other. I searched the forum and didn't find anything.

Edit: It's installed in the saved games folder BTW.

Custom liveries now have to include the code for the selectable numbers in their description files so that they can appear blank. Since they didn't exist at the time many custom liveries were made, their description files default those missing lines of code to the main description file, which has them set as visible.

Thanks for reply. So it's something in the .lua file that comes with the livery? Could you tell me how to remove the numbers, I mean what should I specefically do?

In addition to the already stated issues, there's also some weird behavior on the nose when I've changed colors. The last digit is cut in half and shows a color difference.

Flickering Left tail numbers and mirrored right nose ones as well.

It cannot be turned off completely. There is a trail of empty [] boxes.

Im not sure if you replying to my post, but if you mean the tail numbers, it can be turned off. I downoladed the latest random f16 skin and used the part of .lua plus his "empty" texture. Then combined with the your original .lua and added the empty.dds to the skin folder and it works. I'm using one of your skins BTW, so thanks, it's great.
