WelshZeCorgi Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Is anyone else getting a pitching oscillation when activating sau recovery (the big black button on the right of the stick.) It seems to get worse over time, seems like a bug.
QuiGon Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) Yes, I experienced the same during a flight issue last week. Unfortunately I don't have a trackfile of this flight. It doesn't always seem to happen though, just under specific circumstanced (loadout?, altitude?). AeriaGloria Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 It’s happenned since the FM was recently adjusted Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
rossmum Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I had no oscillation with it today, but did notice it was putting me into a slight climb rather than its previous behaviour before the FM change (dropping the nose for speed, overcompensating once or twice to level out, then sitting dead level).
rinkerbuck Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 yes its terrible, is on their official bug tracker
Nealius Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I've had SAU recovery oscillate while trying to keep level flight, and I've had it put me in dives, and I've had it put me in climbs. It just doesn't seem to work as intended.
Al-Azraq Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I am experiencing the same behaviour. It was fine in one training mission but after that it has hapened to me even in free flight. i7 12700KF | MSI Z690 A-PRO | Corsair Vengeance 2x16 gb @ 3200 Mhz | RTX 3070 Ti FE | Acer XB271HU 1440P 144HZ | Virpil T-50 CM throttle | Virpil WarBRD Base + MongoosT-50 CM2 Grip | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR 5 | HP Reverb G2 Bf 109 K-4 | Fw 190 A-8 | Spitfire LF Mk. AeriaGloria Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 While it may not be suppossed to oscillate, it is normal for it to cause altitude loss before leveling out in recovery mode. When it went up for you Nealius may you have been going transonic? If so might have been pitot errors Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
Bear21 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 I have observed it as well, I think it's related to how well trimmed you are before activating recovery mode. You need to be well trimmed before activation IMO. Check it out. ____________________________ HP Envy 34 TM16000/TWCS/TFRP. You need to be well trimmed before activation IMO. Check it out. This is a workaround, not a solution to the bug. You don't have to be trimmed for it to work. WildBillKelsoe Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 There might be logic issues where if you want recovery at less than 750 km/h the ARU-3VM stick to surface oscillations might induce these oscillations in the sense that you would recover only at logically high speeds and not the full spectrum of the speed as thought before. I could be wrong. My point is, accel to >750 km/h and you may experimce less oscillations as the system intentionally deflects LESS with high speeds and more with low speeds.
