F14 with seat shaker - buffeting effect keeps pulsating all the time.exports problem?

Is someone here who has a seat shaker?

I have a transducer mounted under my chair and I use the SimShaker Sound Module from Andres https://andres.shop/software/28-simshaker-wings.html

I try to get as much feedback of the aircraft buffeting pre-stall through the sim shaker. In every other aircraft especially in the F16 and F18 it works amazingly well. I have deactivated all the other outputs like G-effect, motor effect etc.

So did I in the F14 too. But besides the buffeting effect ocurring when you would expect it too, there is a regular pulse-like effect too.

Seems like in regular intervals there is a buffeting going through the F14.

Does someone have a seat shaker (butt-kicker) too and can confirm? Or better give a solution. Maybe an alternative software might be needed?

Got my Jetseat three days ago. Exact same issue, so turned buffet down to 15. Solved. Awesome peripheral BTW.

Okay, good to know that the issue occurs even for people using a jetseat instead of a transducer / butt-kicker like me.

So the problem seems to be what the F14 exports to the seat shaker and it is not an issue Andre has to take care of in his software, but Heatblur has to. I cant just turn down buffet, because in all the other aircraft it is the only channel I keep turned up. Like I said, this is what I want the seat shaker to inform me of, when I get too slow.

If you're not sitting in it, that sucker will be moving like an electric football player.

So, is there a way to stop this from happening, other than turning buffet strength down to 15?

Sorry for the OT....but just curious...I have a jetseat, additing also a buttkicker under my seat would give me some added value or it is redundant?

I believe that both items complement each other very well. I turn my butt kicker off during late hours flights, due to shaking the whole house, which is not very appreciated by my family, and find something missing. Turning off the seat is the same way around.

@VirusAM I think, correct me if I am wrong, a commercial seat shaker, that you can purchase, just uses the same technology. But much more transducers than just one like I do. So the effect should be very comparable. Right?

@GunSlinger I was hoping for Heatblur to react here, because I think its an error of the exports the the F14 sends to the seat shaker, as no other aircraft shows this behavior. Which is really unfortunate, because there is no other aircraft in DCS which requires so much to feel the buffet.

I just have a jet seat but I don’t bother with the sound induced function. I have it set so I have minimal rumble when accelerating or rolling. And it makes the actions like high AoA, firing guns deploying speedbrakes dropping gear applying burner more noticeable, it’s working nicely, perhaps try without the sound option to see if this is causing it?

Sound option? What do you mean? The signal my transducer receives is only the specific audio track which is created by the "sim shaker for aviators" software, but no repetition of what DCS outputs as sound effects. If I uncheck everything except "buffet / stall" I get just the effect for buffet but the pulsing noise too.

I have sim shaker for aviators and that’s all I use I don’t use the sim shaker wings software, I think there’s another software called sim shaker sound module, I assumed you meant you use that software as well maybe I misunderstood you. Anyway the only software I use is simshaker for aviators and it working without problems so far.

How does the Jetseat compare to the current simshakers from Andres shop? Considering this and/ or buttkicker.

From what I understand, the jetseat and a buttkicker (transducer) in my case, as you might have seen in the picures about my "setup" ;) , I posted before, just do the same. But a jetseat seems to have more of those transducers spread across it, which are maybe driven by multiple channels.

I guess, it will be giving your back and your butt different feels in different areas. Which might make sense for racing, but not for DCS. Thats why I have just one big transducer mounted to my folding chair ;)

But to get back to the main question here, I think I know where this random shaking comes from. Heatblur seems to have added some general shakiness to the Tomcat. Which you can see visually in the cockpit, but it is also picked up in the signal for my transducer. So the problem might be how heatblur has set up the "shaking for entertainment" which is no information my butt needs, compared to a real buffeting event, which seems to use the same "channel" visually and sim shaker-wise. See this video and watch the wave form (might need to go full screen and full resolution, the wave form is very small). This is what my butt is feeling ;) What you can also see is, that the faster I get, the more vibrations are in the cockpit which are translated to my buttkicker.

If you are using simshaker for aviators then you likely have the box checked for G-effect or G-feeling. This will cause a constant vibration but you can adjust the deadzone on the second tab and tune it for level flight and delay the action in turns and climbs. I did this and it works great. Or sometimes I just turn off g-effect totally since it gets to be too much along with the other effects layering on.

Actually, the different areas work quite well at telling me exactly what is happening with the aircraft. Take the afterburners as an example - only the bottom back motors vibrate. Whereas with the wheels, it's the bottom seat motors. I'm still thinking of getting a Buttkicker though - do you know if this will work with the Simshaker software, as the sound module Andre sells appears to just be a buttkicker?
