plaiskool Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Hi there, I would like to know if anybody tried both of them, and can give me feedback about Virpil rudder Or TM TPR rudder? I received my Virpil Stick and definately in love with it and now need rudders. But now really hesitating between both of them. If anybody can give me feedbacks.... Thank you very much.
FoxTwo Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 They're both nice and you can't go wrong with either, pick which ever one fits into your existing setup better. Frankly the differences between them aren't significant enough to make one better than the other except for personal preference.
DutchCoolHand Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 I have the MFG Crosswinds and am very happy, I got mine in 4 days and they work really well AMD RYZEN 7 2700 / 32GB / RTX2070 / 500GB M.2 with Windows and DCS / 2 - 500GB SSD / Rift S/ TM Warthog with F18 stick and Virpil WarBRD / Foxx Mounts/ MFG Crosswind rudders + 3 MFD's | Now enjoying VR with PointCTRL controllers + Gamematrix JetSeat
zcaa0g Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 ;)I have the MFG Crosswinds and am very happy, I got mine in 4 days and they work really well Extremely adjustable, small form factor and proven longevity. Sans several grand hydraulic rudder pedals, I wouldn't want any other set under the $1000 price point. The most important item for me in that price point was adjustability.
Svsmokey Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Be sure to take into account your seating position . TPR , for example , is best used with a low seating position . If you're flying a desktop , you may find it uncomfortable . 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2

tintifaxl Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 You may be the minority. I tried the TPR's using a desk and it was uncomfortable. I sold them. How high you sit in the chair will matter too. I replaced mine with VKB rudders. Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
imacken Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 You may be the minority. I tried the TPR's using a desk and it was uncomfortable. I sold them. How high you sit in the chair will matter too. I just don’t see why that would be. I found the opposite. Because of the pendulum structure, you don’t get the lateral movement of more conventional pedals. But, each to his own. Aviators Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I have VKB Rudder, really good and accurate. But if you have to choose between the two listed by you, I recommend virpil. zcaa0g Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Surprisingly, several grand hydraulic rudder pedals are not nicer than the Slaw Viper RX V2 or the MFG Crosswinds. I will take you word for it since that was merely an assumption on my part. Good to know though.
BuzzU Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I just don’t see why that would be. I found the opposite. Because of the pendulum structure, you don’t get the lateral movement of more conventional pedals. But, each to his own. I may be sitting higher than you. I'm not the only one with the same problem with the TPR pedals. I think seat height is the difference. Too bad they were smooth pedals. I went with the Crosswinds and love them. Yep! To each his own. We're both happy and that's all that matters. Buzz
plaiskool Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 Allright i bought the Virpil ACE interceptor. Will see how it goes ;)
RogueSqdn Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I have both the TM and the VPC rudders. The TMs have a weak point in the connection between the toe brake and the hall sensor... the metal is very then and I've had it break a few times and had to get replacement parts from TM. I mostly gave up on it and ordered the VPC ACE2 rudders, and haven't had an issue with them. imacken Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 'Between the toe brake and the hall sensor'? Can you explain where that is, maybe on a marked diagram? RogueSqdn Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 The part circled in yellow. The bolt that screws into it will snap the gray metal in half if the toe brake is pushed down on it. It won't happen when new, but will eventually wear down the metal and snap it in half. imacken Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 OK, thanks for that. I must admit, I'm kind of surprised you have managed to break that. Looking at mine, I wouldn't say it was particularly thin at all. I think you would need a gorilla to stand on the pedals for that to break! In normal use, I can't see how that piece is under any great pressure at all, but ... what do I know.
