REDEYE_CVW-66
I know that Heatblur has been very adamant about not wanting to change the lighting further. However, as they are now- the F-14 is not even visible on the PLAT cam at night for CASE IIIs- whilst the Hornet (Which is- I agree, TOO bright) can easily be seen on its final approach. With a human LSO, it is practically impossible to give calls. I am part of a group and this is not my personal opinion, but a report of what we experience. Here is to hoping they might consider adjusting them. Real life clip- showing Hornets on short finals. Lights VERY visible. sLYFa
+1 on that Moreover, the formation are very dim at higher LOD levels, making formation at night tricky. Oh and the refuel probe light is also invisible even during a pitch black night. i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
REDEYE_CVW-66
Good point- forgot that but very true. Like most ppl here I AAR on a regular basis, but at night, the thing is close to impossible.

Northstar98
I'll do some testing later, if the lights need to be made brighter so be it, but hopefully without turning the lights into large immersion strangling cartoon orbs like runway lights apart on every map apart from the SoH map. I know that the Hornet on the current stable when you zoom out turns into one gigantic bright orb that makes it look like that Chelyabinsk meteor. OnlyforDCS
I know that the Hornet on the current stable when you zoom out turns into one gigantic bright orb that makes it look like that Chelyabinsk meteor. I know this is meant as a joke, but have you looked at planes at night in RL? Even from the ground they can be very, very bright especially on a really dark night with no light pollution. I'd rather have them at meteor levels than not visible at all. I'm not a coder myself yet, but i've been dabbing with Reshade for a while now. The constant changes in the lighting system and engine that ED does, while beneficial for us end users, also mean i had to completely redo my Reshade presets 4-5 times over the last 3 months. Each of those changes took me 4-5 hours. I can only assume making such changes in the actual games is much, much more intensive and frustrating activity. Northstar98
I know this is meant as a joke To be honest, if the Hornet had a glowing trail the resemblance would be uncanny. but have you looked at planes at night in RL? Even from the ground they can be very, very bright especially on a really dark night with no light pollution. I'd rather have them at meteor levels than not visible at all. I'll be honest not much, the most I see are from videos , but here we're subject to unknown exposure settings. I guess the lights could be brighter, just hopefully without the fake orb effects. Hopefully as the engine improves, lights can be made more visible at range, without resorting to overexaggerated (IMO) halo effects.
