  1. Hi there, Rodge here from CVW-66. We are a milsim (or as close as possible with DCS) group and have 2 squadrons with about 30 members, comparable to CVW-17 as it seems. I'd like to chime in and confirm these issues. We love the idea of the SC but in practise, it's quite the challenge. We've had a lot of frustration with it and have to follow strict, non-immersive rules not to screw with things like launching. We share the same wishes as posted above. The passion and support is here, please repay it by fixing the problems Thanks and good luck.
  2. Hi there! I want to have a repository on my NAS, http (only option, right?). It worked with OVGME but am struggling with the setup with OMM. I went looking through the xml and am unsure where to put what data. Let's say the mod is called sample_mod and is located on my NAS at: http://thisisatesturl.com/mods/ and I have an xml at that location. Please let me know how to edit the xml to have it work, thanks.
  3. @Hairdo1-1 Hi, I have this as well. Popped up out of nowhere. Did you happen to fix it?
  4. @timothybossGreat to hear you've worked on it. I'll study it in detail and give a feedback after first mission use.
  5. Carrier Air Wing 66 Currently enlisting: Tomcat pilots and rios, ATC controllers and mission makers. About us: Carrier Air Wing 66 is a DCS World PVE multiplayer group, centered on US Navy fighters and operations. We are a small, but tight-knit community that emphasizes immersion, realism and teamwork over individual performance. We are primarily a PVE (Player vs. Environment) group that uses training, qualification and detailed missions to immerse ourselves into the atmosphere of modern jet combat and the mindset of a US Naval aviator. If you enjoy fast-paced action and racking up kills in PVP, this might NOT be the group for you. We are a mature and consistent group that focuses on learning, progression and having an inclusive and enthusiastic community. We can be considered a ‘hard-core’ unit, in that we emphasize training, qualification and dedicated pilots that fly together over an extended period using realistic tactics, techniques and procedures. We currently operate two (fictional) US Navy squadrons; VF-119 "Tridents", flying the F-14B Tomcat and VFA-166 "Maulers", flying the F/A-18C Hornet. Schedule: We strive to fly twice a week, on thursday and sunday, starting at 1930CE(S)T. We operate a yearly schedule, consisting of training in the NTTR, then carrier (re)qualifications and finally a cruise (deployment on a carrier), where we play an extensive campaign consisting of cyclic operations and major strikes. Recruitment: At the moment we are looking for 2 Tomcat pilots (and/or RIO's). Our hornet squadron is fully manned at the moment. BEFORE YOU CONSIDER APPLYING- MAKE SURE THAT YOU THIS DESCRIPTION IS FITTING FOR YOU: 1. You are a mature, casual dude, that enjoy 'serious fun' and learning together with like-minded pilots. 2. You own and actively fly the Heatblur F-14 Tomcat or ED's F/A-18 Hornet and can hold your own in all aspects of a mission (Navigation, communication, a2a refueling, BVR, WVR, A2G, Case I recovery). 3. You have been active with DCS for a good while and know that this is a lasting passion and hobby for you. 4. You can enjoy 'slow paced' gameplay, where the focus is learning together, rather than racking up kills in a PVP server. 5. You are European based (Due to ping and timezones) and speak English comfortably. 6. You own the NTTR, PG and Syria maps. 7. You have, or are willing to get Simple Radio (SRS) for inflight communications. Lastly- REAL LIFE always comes first. If you can't join us for a mission, don't sweat it. Got a few busy weeks ahead? No problem. Just let us know. However, we expect that you make an effort to be an active and contributing member, and that you realistically aim to join 3-4+ missions a month in general. If you join but end up not participating over the course of weeks you will be discharged. If ALL of these points apply to you- feel free to join our Discord channel, read the welcome document and tell me a bit about yourself and your background, including DCS. Discord Channel If you enjoy flying the Tomcat and Hornet together with like-minded people- you won't regret it!

  7. Monitor, 5120x1440 I can have a look later. It’s meant as a relative performance comparison though!
  8. Hello there! I’m not much of a benchmarkers but thought I’d share my initial and bery crude benchmark results. I went from a 2080 non-super to the AMD reference 7900XTX. On the Supercarrier, in rain, I went from 40 to 84 fps. On a low level run over Cyprus, I went from 49 to 113. All settings were kept the same. There is still some noticable microstuttering from time to time with frametimes bouncing a little. I’ll include a graph below. Anyway, expect a good doubling of FPS if you bite the bullet! I’m on a monitor, 5120x1440. MSAA off.
  9. Just found this topic. We are a virtual wing with many, many missions in Syria with the SC. We’ve had exactly this issue for many months and have tried many thing like you’ve said without improvement. We freeze between 20-50 nm from the carrier in a wint which has f18s and f14s. It is very immersion breaking and annoying, and it is incredibly disappointing to see it hasn’t been fixed yet. We check server and client logs everytime and can’t find any issue.
  10. As a virtual wing aviator who almost solely does carrier ops, I support your post and share the disappointment and quite frankly the frustration with this module. The lack of addition of new features is one thing, but the bugs that take away the fun in using the SC is another. I join you in hoping for improvement!
  11. +1. I’m with Drex and BravoOne. Make it a server side setting please!
  12. Gentlemen moustaches, I fly in a virtual wing with amongst another squadron, a squadron of tomcats. We have customs skins for them which look great and are exported to heatblur’s specs. However, we all experience stuttering when we recover and there are tomcats on the deck already with our custom paint. The stuttering occurs in close which is a horrible time to have these and is making recovery very scary. I suspect it’s to do with the switching between far and near skin. How can I remedy this? Is there a way to preload the detailed skin earlier? Any other suggestion? Thanks a bunch.
  13. Hello again @timothyboss. I and others in my virtual wing still use your fuel planner. Is there any way to input waypoints in a different format than a google link of degrees decimals? I use combatflite which outputs in degrees minutes decimal for example. Thanks, Rodge.
  14. We have this issue with our Wing as well. On mission start, a recovery helo, a viking and an E-2 depart. Only some of us get a reaction from the ground crew when lining up on the cat, but it feels very random. This is with Hornets as well as Tomcats. It’s like only one aircraft can go at a time from a certain cat. i’ll try your rearm trick and see if that works.
  15. Doesn’t help with the fake_omni_lights though, tried that.
  16. I've put it wrong - you can select it, it just doesn't change the fuel used below that altitude.
  17. Works very nicely! Great! Although I cannot select a loiter below 15.000', is that adjustable?
  18. Yes, we are! https://discord.gg/3Jf8dWjP Try that - or send me a message on DIscord (Rodge#0166)
