I did a quick add to the "default" livery that comes with the mod & renamed "default - Loading Bay Down"

You can unzip & add to the Mod directly or add to the main DCS install under Liveries:

Add to Mod folder route: C:/ ..../ Saved Games/ DCS/ Mods/ Aircraft/ Liveries / Hercules

Add to Main DCS route: ...DCSWorld/ Bazaar/ Liveries/ Hercules

You can make a copy of the livery folder & rename as above to have static version (ground only) & a separate flying version.

Just change the name, found near the bottom e.g.

name = "US default"     to    name = "US default - Loading Bay Down"

Or just put "--" in front of "name" & it will read the Folder Name as Description, instead - as I have done (much easier for maintenance)

Good luck 👍

Don't quote me but my Macro_sequencies.lua's for auto start and stop are in the DCS root folder. The Anubis mod is in the saved games folder which does not have that file.

There is no macro sequencies lua file in the Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft\Hercules ver 6.8.2\Cockpit\Scripts folder. This because the start sequence for the engines and APU are difficult to replicate. This I gleaned from others who have tried to create an auto start mechanism. As to why it is, is completely out of my knowledge base.

A manual start up is very easy once you have done it a couple of times. Perhaps the easiest in DCS as far as I'm concerned. Also using a mod called "The Way" really helps with the nav inputs, makes life very simple.

This mod doesn't seem to work on the Kola map. Specifically at the Norwegian airbases, Bodo, Banak and Kirkenes. You load into the cockpit and then DCS hangs.

Managed to figure out what was wrong. The FOV on the cannon view was too narrow for my ultrawidescreen set up. I adjusted the FOV for that station in views.lau and that fixed the problem

Will be the Views.lua in the main Hercules folder I would imagine. If you open the file with Notepad++ there's the Cannon Target Station at line 137 and 279 and FOV is set at 42.661049 so make that bigger, could try something like 60.000000. Use that as a starting point and adjust either way until you are happy, most of the other FOV are set at 75.000000.

Using Notepad++ is handy as it will make a backup file so you can revert back to that, if not just make a copy the Views.lua before doing anything.

If you haven't got Notepad++ this is the official download: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

This mod doesn't implement some of the backend for handling macros, eg the ones used in Macro_sequences.lua. However as mentioned in this previous post an autostart is available with a patch to the mod and using a scratchpad extension. So install the two zip files mentioned. One caveat is that aeronautes-pit extension has been integrated into the main scratchpad github so you can use that if you prefer. You'll still need the Herc zip file from aeronautes github for now.

Hey, I just wanted to report that the Hercules mods seems to conflict with the recently released 2.4 version of the CJS SuperHornet mod (

but 2.4 installs in Saved Games).

The dcs.log output here shows:

2024-11-29 23:57:11.764 ERROR LuaGUI (Main): [string "Scripts/Database/db_main.lua"]:37: bad argument #5 to 'format' (number expected, got table)

when running a SuperHornet mission with the C130 mod installed. Error disappears when the C130 mod is moved away. Apparently it could be because the C130 mod access warehouse data in a way incompatible with recent DCS versions. I know there's no work done on the mod for now but maybe a simple patch would be possible (i'll try to investigate and report back)

So for now it's likely you have to chose between the Hercules and the Rhino.

Visit the Dangerdogz at www.dangerdogz.com. We are a group based on having fun (no command structure, no expectations of attendance, no formal skills required, that is not to say we can not get serious for special events, of which we have many). We play DCS and IL2 GBS. We have two groups one based in North America / Canada and one UK / Europe. Come check us out.

There is a hotfix for the Herc Mod but not by Anubis, instead SkateZilla from CJS Superhornet Team has taken a closer look at the issue:
