Choke Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 When using the call the ball command, instead of saying "Tomcat Ball" on the radio it says "Hornet Ball" Tiny bug. Thanks for this amazing update!

Reflected Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 It also gets the Hornet treatment from the catapult crew, as well as the LSO. ‘You’re slow’ even when I’m slightly fast. Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
RustBelt Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I thought this was a Supercarrier issue not the F-14's
Blinde Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 I got "Tomcat Ball" call too after some point performing multiple landings.
Eldur Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Mom, can we have Hornet? But we do have Hornet at home! Hornet at home: Awesome!
Hawkeye91 Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Does the IFOLS approach angle change between the hornet and tomcat? I followed a near perfectly centered ball all the way to the deck without changing rate of descent at all and hit the one wire... I was in the A and the carrier was treating me like a hornet.
RustBelt Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 No it doesn't. Supercarrier is still only for the Hornet.
Skysurfer Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 The Suprecarrier is kind of a meme right now with its lack of support since release. Kinda disapointed with it honestly, especially flying the Tomcat off of it.
Hawkeye91 Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 No it doesn't. Supercarrier is still only for the Hornet. Should it be different? Do the f14 and f18 fly different approach angles? I would assume they would due to different lengths between the pilots sight picture and the arresting hook.

I would assume they would due to different lengths between the pilots sight picture and the arresting hook. The angle is the same generally, 3.5° but can be set to 3.75° or 4.0° in high wind conditions. The difference between airframes is the hook to eye distance and needs to be accounted for.
