SliderCDN - Random CTD, unable to start

forgive me if this was already suggested and i missed it. have you tried to reboot computer in safemode and then try DCS. i have not had to do it but i have seen it was suggested in the past. good way to test without any unnecessary bs running in background.. another thing i have experienced myself was to uninstall geforce experience. it applies more graphics settings before game launches.

this is probably nonsense but i see you have multi monitors. have you tried to disconnect the monitor not for DCS then trying? you are officially getting into the sim in the video. its after starting a mission that you CTD. that happening may contain clues.

I used to suggest the use of Windows diagnostic mode but I won't do it anymore: Reflected got stuck doing so and he even had to pay a tech specialist to unblock his Windows. Someone else also had the issue.

@SliderCDNI see both Avast and AVG were properly uninstalled. Good job.

Here's a link to an enhanced version of your process list (green = safe Windows process, blue = unsuspected processes, white = potential suspects). If you're still determined to find the culprit (I'm still convinced your crash is caused by an external program), try killing all the white processes thanks to the Task Manager. If they keep restarting, you need to stop their services. You'll still be able to restart them, don't worry.

Are you overclocking at all Slider?

It maybe best to contact support directly if you continue to have issues

I am not, other than what I've mentioned and that is no longer the case. To be honest, I came here because support stopped replying to my ticket updates and the few suggestions they gave me lead nowhere.

Flappie has been faaaaar better and more thorough help than support has ever been, in my case anyway.

Some issues like this one can be difficult, many different setups out there, I hope you find a solution eventually.

Flappie has been very helpful here on the forum as you mention and it is appreciated.

It's hard to guess what's happening to your DCS. Please try the following:

  1. Go to "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta", then empty both "fxo" and "metashaders2" folders (DCS shader cache).
  2. Also empty "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache" folder (NVIDIA shader cache).
  3. Set Windows GPU scheduling to OFF (it might be disabled already).
  4. Open your Windows antivirus settings and add exceptions for these two folders: "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\" and "C:\Users\DINO\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta".
  5. Last but not least, empty "C:\Users\DINO\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta" (AppData is masked, but if you copy-paste the full path in your file explorer, you'll get there).

I did all this. No change again. I do not understand the issue at all any more...several people I know that take upwards of 20 minutes just to load into main menu, end up flying just fine. My game was fine until this thread was opened. No issues. Now, just poof...turns off, no errors, no nothing.

i saw on video you shared @SliderCDN you still have geforce experience running. have you tried to either turn off the overlay or uninstall GFE? my post was after your video but i see no mention from you that you did it.

If you use GeForce Experience and have random games crashing that worked fine before...

if successful, whenever you install nvidia updates, do a custom install and uncheck the GFE part.

are you able to find these two files and, if not too massive, share them?

this could be either memory errors in video card or system.

also do you have DCS.exe showing customized in the nvidia control panel? perhaps restore the default settings to default or all as "application controlled."
