I found the first mission of Reforger II takes place in 2016 while the next ones in 1990 (as the campaign plot) but then we get the LANTIRN, which got first deployed in '96 - confusing.

Judging by the file modification date missions 2-5 are changed/fixed in 2.9 :thumbup:

I technically completed Mission 2. I still went back and forth on the south barcap until I gave up after 30 min and flew to the tanker. Luckily it didn't run away this time. I almost gave up after trying to refuel when I got the report that the migs were shot down. This allowed me to progress and finish the mission

This was on 2.9? That's not how the mission should run.

BUG - Mission 4: Shock & Awe

The HVT convoy halts just after calling a right turn at the next road junction and just prior to reaching said road junction and does not move thereafter and no messages passed to explain the halt or what is required of Uzi flight to proceed.

Yes same here, as above, the convoy stops, I keep eyes-on orbiting overhead but nothing progresses.

SPOILERS FOR OP REFORGER 2, Missions 2+3

G'day IronMike,

I've just started playing through OP Reforger 2 after absolutely loving the first installment. Unfortunately, I've got a couple of bug reports to throw your way.

First of all, for mission 2: Upon reaching the first CAP there is a report of MiG-29s taking off and jester starts to guide an intercept. The dialogue made this sound like it was meant to be after another couple of encounters, and I believe that the stage triggered early, rather than waiting for the flight to reposition to the second southern CAP. This caused bug #2, where the flight ends up sitting in the southern CAP for ~45 minutes, until randomly dialogue about MiGs getting shot down triggers, and the flight is directed to tank. At this stage, I thought that all would be well, I could tank and RTB and it should all work. However, while I was sitting in a CAP burning fuel, so was the tanker, and it RTB's at the same time as the CAP Tomcats are trying to catch it. 

Secondly, mission 3: All was going smoothly with the exception of some rather aggressive changes of altitude, speed and heading by lead which can only be expected of the AI pilots. However, after the compound strike was completed, and the flight is cleared to RTB, I rejoined with lead, at which point he started a high angle, slow speed descent towards the lake nearby, and then proceeded to make a landing at the closest airfield. Absolutely blind to what could have caused it I ended the mission there.

 

Hope you have the time to look into the campaign around the busy F4 release period. I'd love to see it fixed up because as I said before the first Reforger was fantastic and I'd love to see the second be just as much of a success.

What's your DCS version? It looks like you flew still bugged version in DCS stable 2.8.7. These missions (2-5) got fixed by community users at least for open beta - check the previous pages of this thread.

Good morning,

I don't believe all of the bug fixes have been released for missions 2 - 5 yet but they should be coming. In the meantime, if you are familiar or comfortable with the mission editor, @Rokkett and myself have posted videos/files that you can use to fix your missions to make them flyable.

Ok, this is really weird. I'm on 2.9.0.47168 and the mission files are all dated 4/13/2023. I just tried mission 2 and it's still bugged for me, just like for Sillyrunner and Gryphus1. I've run a repair to no effect.

The files are not up to date. The fixes posted previously will still need to be applied (even in 2.9) in order to fly 2 - 5. I know Heatblur is intending to use the fixes in an upcoming update but I don't know when.

Thanks, Rokkett and Rick_NSX. Flew the corrected Mission 2 today and had a blast with it. Tomorrow I'm going to try the mission 3 fix from the YouTube video. I have some experience with the mission editor, and shouldn't have much trouble.

Rick_NSX, I applied the fixes shown in your video as nearly as I could. For the trigger 1 ONCE (RTB FOFF 30 FON 31, NO EVENT), your video shows to select Lead-2 / 1. Switch Waypoint (<current> - 3), but in the mission editor, the choices were (<current> -4) and (<current> -5). Ditto for 1 ONCE (Failure FOFF 30 FON 31, NO EVENT). I set the first one to waypoint 4 and the second to waypoint 5. I was able to complete the mission, but ran into lots of issues getting vectors to land. The first radio call from Incirlik Tower was extremely difficult to trigger. I'm not even sure how I did, but overflying the last steerpoint didn't work, as if Jester had set it wrong.

Hmm not sure what has happened to your mission file, but my mission file shows Lead 2 to also have (<current> -3) and (<current> -4) as per Rick_NSX.

Also, the vector zones can be a bit tricky to find if your position is a bit off when you RTB, and may require you to hunt around a bit by flying around the base. You could try enlarging the vector zones if you are comfortable doing that in ME.

Anyway, here is my copy of Reforger II Mission 3 if you like.

The other weird glitch I had in my playthrough was that, after the RTB call, I used the F10 menu to tell Jester that we were returning straight to base, since we had enough fuel to skip the tanker. However, when I flew through the general vicinity of the tanker, Jester started talking me through the pre-contact procedure. I continued on, and Jester declared that we had taken on enough fuel and could return to base. Again, I was able to complete the mission in the end, but it was nevertheless buggy.

The flags for RTB and Tanker are flipped in the original. It was one of the fixes that should have been covered by the file from Rokkett or the video I posted.

I finally completed Reforger II campaign. It was great experience, good, realistic and long missions, funny moments, cool story, Jester was more proactive and snarky - I liked it all. Thanks @IronMike, HB team and all the fantastic VO donors. Can't wait for the next one.

I thought I'm patient and waited months for the fixes to come from HB until I decided lately to use the fixes by @Rokkett and @Rick_NSX which made me able to finish the campaign, so great thanks to you, guys, you're amazing. Whatever you got from HB it's well deserved and worth it, I hope.

And a few minor bugs I noticed:

#6 - some guy stands in the air, just look left at the mission start. Later on, 50nm from carrier, we're told to go button 4. Should be 3 (259).

#7 - Jester say we're launching from Cat1 and 2, but we're already connected to Cat3.
