Little late to to the party on this one but I finally got around to finishing this campaign and first things first I loved it. Had the usual DCS glitches and bugs involved but at this point thats to be expected. There is one bit of feedback for HB's end I would like to say though, personally I am not a fan of a silent protagonist regardless of the game and this campaign had a whole lot of 1-way conversations with Jester making big speeches and the pilot stays totally silent. Then all of the sudden the pilot has a voice on the mission where you fly to the carrier and will talk to Jester afterwards. Only suggestion/request I have to make is that in the future part 3 that the pilot will continue to talk, even a simple "O.K." or "Roger" when Jester is giving directions would go a long way.

Just played mission 1 of Reforger 2 campaign, got stuck off of taxiway when took left turn to de-arming area too soon. 🙄 Quit mission thinking "never mind, I'll be able to skip this mission" but when I hit 'end mission' I got a 'campaign failed' message. Not going to re-fly mission 1 again at time soon; is there a way to skip to mission 2?

Ouch, so close 🙂 Haven't you tried to afterburner it out of the hole? Should be possible when you're lighter weight after the mission. But, yeah, if you didn't get to the parking spot zone and no "mission complete" message then it's officially not completed.

In the campaign window you can just click "SKIP" to skip the mission. Might be required to hit "SHOW" button first if it's not visible.

Yeah that’s what I expected to see but didn’t. I’ll log in again this ‘avo and check. Cheers Draconus 👍🏼

Update: confirmed mission 1 does not allow you skip it if you fail the mission. Reflew and completed successfully.

FYI just did Mission 2 and experienced no bugs.

I got to Mission 2 of Part 2, and right about the time I realized I was being told to CAP right over an active SA-2 site pretty much abandoned this campaign.  After Mission 1, just too painful to be bothered to continue.

Hello all,

Bought this campaign. Good storytelling, but I found it completely uninteresting to play. Seems this is full of errors, but I'm an old guy and might miss something, am I doing something wrong?

The computer that is my rio seems totally scripted and in the wrong way. It won't report "holding short" unless I enter the runway. He states he tracks stuff when I can see the lantirn is not tracking (and even if it's masked) And the GBUs seem to track regardless of cloud cover or anything else.

And even if I place my kite precisely where it says, it still won't give me mission complete (but at least I can press skip to get the next mission, so that's not an issue)

Is this how it's supposed to be? Is it more a play a movie than real missions? Is the other campaigns better?

i noticed the holding short thing as well, that's i think todo with the delta between the ways the runways are drawn and the way they are mapped.

this one, in many cases you need to continue a little longer than you think is reasonable for jester to pick it up.

some of it, i think is basically a good mission, but was scripted early on and some of the technology has evolved or the use of scripting has, which can make things much more interesting.  Though TBH it's not "terrible", from memory this campaign does come "for free" with the Tomcat so that's worth bearing in mind as well.

Try Speed and Angels Fear the bones and Zone 5 i found them much better, I am still enjoying Reforger Part 1 and 2 but as you say it has its flaws and eccentricities

I was flying Reforger 2 mission 5 2 times and both times skipped refueling as I had plenty of fuel to tell Jester in F10 menu to go direct RTB. Both times I flown route to Incirlik to the final approach some 7 miles away from runaway 5, tried flying around several times and repeating final approach pattern but haven't managed to trigger ATC to vector me for a flyover break. Had all correct altitudes as in any prior mission when RTB.

Is there any bug on triggers with and without refueling? Should I try to refuel or maybe to fix triggers?

Yes, the mission favours returning to base via the tanker track, to intercept the landing trigger zones.

If you RTB directly after engaging the MiGs, unfortunately the vector you get from ATC causes you to miss the landing trigger zones. Even if you do not want or need to AAR, I would still head out to the vicinity of the tanker before RTB, so that the vector you get at least puts you in the right ballpark for the landing triggers.

It's not bugged the ATC triggers for the approach are way too small after you hit the trigger for you initial descent, And when you do follow them the line you up on the commercial airport to the west.

I just had the same issue with mission 5.  I have yet had the need to refuel on this campaign and I always have plenty of gas left.  I also headed straight back after the migs and took direction from  atc at 50 miles.  Then as I neared home base I didn’t get any more atc and I knew I missed a trigger, I landed anyway but knew I was going to get a failed. I enjoy these campaigns but it’s frustrating not getting a mission complete when you did everything correctly at took all direction given.

I haven’t played OP Reforger II before the latest dcs update, but it seems like mission 3 might have a broken trigger after the first bomb drop. I get the audio cue to orbit north, the bomb hits the target but then I don’t get any audio cue that it hit. Jester stays locked onto the first target, the flight lead goes into an endless orbit, there are a few more audio cues from the friendly jets doing their thing but otherwise the mission stops progressing. Tested 5 times now with the same results.

same problem for me as well. following jester's instructions, on the first bunker, even though I hit the scud, it does not destroy completely (once 33% damage, once 49% damage, etc.). So I find myself orbiting around waiting for nothing.
I tried dropping a second GBU, manually, and actually then the mission continues. The problem is that I have one less bomb to complete it. Any advice?

Looks like a trigger set for a unit kill. With recent changes to the fuzes it might be needed to change them in the loadout for GBU effectivness as the default one may no longer be correct.

Edit: No, it's not about fuzes.

this could be the explanation. i tried, after watching the video where they explained fuzes, to change them both from the mission planner and inside the cockpit, but there is no possibility. or maybe i didn't understand how to do it. do you think it is something that only the person who created the campaign can change?

Sorry, just checked and there's no fuze settings available for the Tomcat and the mission itself is not pretected, you're free to edit it. I don't feel like reflying the mission but I confirm that it checks for the unit kill. The unit is Scud vehicle driving on the road 23kts so I tested a short mission with GBU-16 and it hit every time, killing it instantly (it's 1000 pounder!). Test for yourself, search for the vehicle around WP1.

my problem, or at least what i think is a bug, is not hitting a convoy. but a bunker with a scud inside. the bunker (a shelter) i hit it, dropping the gbu at jester's pickle, but the scud never gets more than 50% damage (and instead in order to move on to the next bunker, i have to destroy it). as i said, if i made a second pass (obviously so i can't complete the mission because i have one less bomb) and with the second gbu i can destroy it and move on (at least temporarily).  i tried the mission again at least a dozen times and nothing.

OK, I found the Scuds were moving out of the bunkers at mission start so they were standing nearby. I fixed their placement and they should stay there.

great. that's why it couldn't be completed. Can I ask you the last favor. after this great one you already did: how do I fix the mission? do I have to replace a file with this one you attached? and where do I find the one to replace? thank you so much in advance. you prevented me from repeating for the 23rd time the mission

Go to the folder: DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F14\Missions\Campaigns\Operation Reforger II - Flanking the Bear\

Make a copy of the mission file and replace it with the one attached in my post. This way it'll be fully working from the DCS Campaigns menu, keeping your current progress. Even without the copy you can get back any original file with DCS repair process.

btw: @IronMike I saw a lot of ground units in this mission have default skin, which happens to be a winter one with snow on'em 🙂 I only fixed the units and their skins (summer) in the Scud base in my mission fix. Just a note to keep in mind when doing/fixing missions

thank you very much. love you.
I just finished playing it and finally managed to complete it, no problem at all.
great, this is what you call being a community.
Thank you, thank you and thank you again.

@WheelyMC look at the file that draconus put and the directions for successfully finishing the mission.

That fix worked great. Unfortunately after completing almost the entire mission it seems like DCS currently isn’t reporting landings properly though, so the mission ending didn’t trigger. Can’t seem to catch a break! lol

As far as I know, in these missions, registering of the landing is not itself a trigger required for mission completion. Did you do the carrier break at the field?
