Capn kamikaze Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 I have a convoy of these launchers that are retreating from a site where they had their radar vehicles destroyed, so they should be on a road, and driving, I can set this up as you would with any other convoy of vehicles, give them waypoints, and a speed etc. I was expecting to see the missile tubes in the stowed position and the vehicles rolling along the road. Instead they're acting like they're just a static object sat on the road.
Flappie Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 Hi Capn. Can you please give us the coordinates? On holiday
Capn kamikaze Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) Where doesn't seem to matter, just put them in any mission, I was using the Syria map, they just don't lower the missile tubes and drive. This mission file should test them, along with the SA-11 lanucher and radar and SA-6 launcher and radar, which do drive. So is it that they're just not coded to stow their tubes and radars, jacks and actually drive? SAM road test.miz Edited February 1, 2021 by Capn kamikaze
Tholozor Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 I don't think the SA-10 launchers in DCS have ever had the ability to move. Flappie Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 @TholozorYou're absolutely right. I've just tested this with the Caucasus map, and I get the same result. All SA-10 elements are fully deployed, preventing them to move. This thread should be moved to the wishlist. On holiday
Capn kamikaze Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 There must have been the intention at some point to have them as movable vehicles since you can assign them waypoints, and speeds, and tell them to be on or off road. If this does get moved to the wish list, then I'd like to add this, we need some vehicles that would be used to tow things like the radars that are not self propelled.
Dragon1-1 Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 We wouldn't even need fancy new tech, just a deployment animation where the vehicle would unhitch from the trailer and park a short distance away. It would be destroyed when the radar is, but it's an acceptable tradeoff IMO.
Capn kamikaze Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 I'm not sure that would work, DCS may see the centre of that single object as the empty space between both halfs, and any missiles such as HARMS would hit that, rather than where the actual object is, and count as a miss.

That is a very old 3D model and not have the propper animations to work as a "mobile" unit, in fact, always has been a "fixed" unit as any site sam as Sa-2, Sa-3, Hawk, Patriot and others. ED has working on new SA-10 units but not have a time from release them and none confirmed if them can be "Stow" and "Deploy" to road movement. ED Team NineLine Posted February 10, 2021 ED Team Posted February 10, 2021 Yes, its one of the many models that needs updated, and I am sure once it is updated, it will be fully animated and moveable. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
