thanks a lot for the offer, but I currently have the mission 80% ready and dont really want to redo it.

its not a problem as the google voices have improved a lot and sound very nicely.

I'm having problems with this add-on. I started the training mission (cold & dark start-up) and though my external view controls worked - no VC view and no other control. I went to the controls UI and reassigned everything, but nothing changed. Restarted, but same deal.

Hi,

I finished the update of the Cold Start training mission, here is a download link:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ai6cuX3YQI26ic54x4HdHKAzTtDVgA?e=HZwV3r

I would really appreciate if you could test it and confirm that the prior issues are solved. 🙏

I'm at the moment updating the Cold Start mission and hopefully will have it ready within the next couple of days .. will share it here as soon as it's working.

Well, it took longer than a couple of days, but I finally finished the update .. I added aspects that on v1.8 of the Mod were not implemented, like the EGI Alignment and the use of Radio communication with ATC, amongst a lot of small details that changed, like the warm-up time for the avionics, the simulation of the Fuel-Cutoff, Start and Idle positions of the Throttle, the simulation of the Throttle COM ptt three-position switch, the Radar Altimeter, etc  🙂

Here is a video walkthrough so you can take a look at how it works:

My greatest thanks to @Luiz Renault for this lovely Mod, it was a pleasure to edit this type of mission because he implemented very neatly the entire cockpit controls, giving access to almost every element of the displays, and defining a lot of Parameters that make easy to get status information about the aircraft.

Now I will continue with the next missions, hopefully they wont take so much time to redo. Once all are finished, I will share the whole set of Missions at ED's User Files 👍

Cheers!

Hi - yes I'd be happy to have a try. I'm having problems downloading the file, though. First it tells me I have to log in to my Live account to access this "sensitive" data and when I do, it just shows me storage plans I could sign up to.

edit: okay, got it on another attempt - it just vanishes very quickly so they can try and get me to sign up!

**straight away I see that I have the same issue I had last time, where I can't access the VC at all, so i think this is perhaps a mod problem,. I will try using the other one, from DropBox by Urbi (this one is the one from GitHub uploaded last month) and see how I get on with that.

Great audio quality btw - using Index for this.

I tested the mission and recorded the above video with the GitHub version, works fine here. What do you mean by VC?

I mean the VC - virtual Cockpit 🙂

I just tried Ubri's version and in that I was able to sit in the VC.

Everything went well - though I had a probably a bit of a senior moment when testing the caution lights and must have missed the instruction to switch them up after testing - until I got to calling ATC. Maybe it's just on Ubri's download, but there is no option to assign UHF, VHF and HF separately - only the default communications switch - and that won't do it.

As I said, audio sounds great, though there are some loud pops and crackles here and there, nothing drastic (unless intentional).  I struggled to hear the instructor with all those Chinooks taxiing past, even on "Hear like in helmet" set and after closing the canopy, which made little difference. Usually not an issue.

There may be a problem for those with weaker systems with all that AI activity going on - I know when I had an older system I was always frustrated when training missions had lots of AI stuff happening and bringing my framerates down - luckily not an issue for me now.

I'll try again, both with Ubri's and with the original mod, but only have half an hour now - I'll get back on it later today.

Anyone else notice - for the mod makers, perhaps - the flaps cut through the sidewinder fins when down.

PS - just found out why I couldn't get in the cockpit in the GitHub version - the folder is missing, there is no Cockpit_A-29B folder in the liveries folder. I'll download it again and if still no joy, I'll try using the one from Ubri's mod.

Okay, I tried the original GitHub mod again, but using Ubri's cockpit folder & description lua file, but still couldn't get into the VC.

I have attached a screenshot of the two mod contents - GitHub original on the left, Ubri on the right. This is frustrating because in the GitHub download, the assignments for the VHF, UHF and HF are there, but the cockpit isn't. In Ubri's mod, it's the other way round! 🙃

Someone fetch me a drink! 🥴

I appreciate the attempt that @Urbi did on december 2022, to update the Mod at a time when it looked like the author was not keeping the mod updated, however the author @Luiz Renault came out with an update specific to dcs 2.8 on late january 2023 … so, I suggest to use this version and not Urbi’s

download it anew from this link: https://github.com/luizrenault/a-29b-community/archive/refs/heads/main.zip

do not use the "releases" tab at github, as it has not been updated with this latest version, use the link above … and please, be sure to previously delete your previous installs from /saved games/mods/aircrafts/

That's ok, the cockpit textures of the original Mod are on another folder, not liveries. Here is how it look on my PC:

Anyone more with this issue? Previous version seems work fine for me...

Already checked the path installation is right. I am is last stable DCS version.

Thanks.

The latest version of the Mod is meant for OpenBeta:

"DCS 2.8.2.35632 Open Beta Compatibility."

On my Openbeta runs fine, don't have DCS Stable to test it, sorry.

Hello,

Today I finished updating the the second mission, about Waypoint navigation. Changes include support for radio comms with ATC and updates to the way new waypoints can be created on the UFCP:

If anyone wants to give it a try, you can get the mission here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ai6cuX3YQI26ic53QSfxaN-YDsilUw?e=Ugur2I

I will publish them at User Files once I have updated the whole set of 6 missions.

Best regards,

Eduardo

Hi. I really thank @Rudel_chwfor the outstanding contributions he has been doing to the A-29B mod.

Just a quick update:

I'm currently working on a EFM version of the mod and plan to release it this month.

The mod is compatible with 2.8 openbeta and can be obtained like it is explained above, using "Download Latest Release" on the readme.

Sorry if the development speed is not up to some of you guys, but feel free to offer help and contribute like many have done. We don't need to create a different branch of this mod.

After the EFM we will do the backseat 3d model and enable it.

New features coming are Datalink, VOR, ADB, GPS/INS weapons, new FLIR with lasing capability, new autopilot and more.

For other features, please post on github  the wishlist because it is easier for me to keep track.

Also a completely new cockpit and external 3d model is on the way.

Sorry for not answering here before, but i changed my email address and forgot to update it here, so i wasn't getting any notifications.

Thanks a lot, looking forward to it 🙂

In the meantime, today I finished updating my CCIP bombing training mission, it looks like this:

Will share the MIZ file tomorrow, as I still need to test the mission a bit more as it includes several variants (start in air or in ground, exit at the end of the bombing, or ending after landing, etc).

Edit: Here is what the long version of the mission looks like, its the same mission, but you need to take-off and fly to the weapons range, and return to base afterwards.

Next will be the rocket training mission 🙂

Best regards,

Eduardo

Downloaded the lasted, unziped, dropped in in my saved games/dcs open beta/mods/aircraft folder... nothing in game... any ideas?

Thanks @Luiz Renault for your continued work on the mod! It's really impressive how you've managed to implement so many new modern features to modded planes, and now with EFM coming it might fly as well as the rest of it deserves. 😃

And thanks @Rudel_chw for your work as well, I'm eagerly looking forward to the FLIR guide. 😃

@Rudel_chwWill your updated training missions be available for download at User Files, or just released along with the next update of the mod?

Ahh never mind! I read the note above about them being available when the set is completed

Yes, I don't want to put the missions at User Files and then have users re-download it everytime I add a new mission to the set. What I've done is share here links to the individual missions, except the latest one which I'm still making sure it has no bugs before putting a link to it.
