  1. 1. DCS Features Wish List

Hello,

I have just 2 wishes, but I don't know if this possible with the DCS game engines:

- The ability to speak to Special Ops on the ground for laser target designation or to receive instructions/give instructions.

For example "Team Snake 1 (Special Ops). Target illuminated. You are go for delivery"

Answer (from Communication Menu "Roger. Delivery on its way" or "Negative. Too much AA in the area" or whatever

Ideally I dream of being able to see a small cinematics screen in the corner of the PC screen to see what's going on on the ground just before impact, or just after, to avoid having to switch to Full Ground View (F7) and lose sight of the HUD.

It could be integrating a small screen of the F7 view (target view) and then disabling it once bombing/strike has been done. Just like in Silent Hunter 4 and 5 , if you recall.

That's all folks for now!

This is already in the game. It's called JTAC. I assume you don't have the A-10C Beta? You can find videos on Youtube showing player interaction with the JTAC.

It's probably been said, but there should be built in viop channels and you should be able to assign a certain channel to a certain radio frequency, same goes for ground troops like if there was the inclusion of a real jtac in multiplayer, they could contact you and you could communicate in real time the way the real fellas do. Just a dream that's all, of course you would need to include realistic playable ground ops for it to work so it would probably never happen. But communicating with different flights on different channels could, would be fairly easy to implement once they built in the voip. But then you would need alot of bandwidth for all the voip channels I would think.

Mission editor - satellite view

Is it possible to implement satellite view in mission editor? It would be easier to place the units on the map in right position on the game map..?

Or to add 3d view of the map position?

Chihz someday has mentioned about possible implementation of 3D view in the Editor, but dunno when :C

Bring back the good ol 3d preview in the encyclopedia, 3d in the editor would be cool too, but integrated so you don't have to jump out of the editor to view the encyclopedia.

And a PDF or bound book of the encyclopedia (if there isn't one already)

Incremental difficulty, instead of just "game" or "sim" might lessen the learning curve.

Real birds would be neat, now we have the "virtual" ones.

Better more realistic explosions for ground units.

Better more realistic animations for ground personnel and ejection sequence (that parachute cracks me up)

..oh and as it's xmas .. a partridge in a pear tree :D

I think a simple script that would "randomize" the timing of secondary explosions would add a lot of immersion.

As it stands now all vehicles seem to burn for a set amount of time, then explode. In reality secondaries from burning vehicles could take some time to occur.

already a script added in editor for extra explosions.

Perhaps I'm misunderstood;

Lets say you've just dropped a GBU-10 in an area with 7 parked vehicles. Usually I get a few, lets say 3, direct secondaries. The 4 remaining vehicles will almost always be on fire, they will also "cook off" at the exact same time.

I'm suggesting that that aforementioned "cook off" time be randomized.

If you did understand me and there is a way to enable this in the editor, please let me know how, as it seems unrealistic that any vehicle that's on fire will explode exactly 7 second (arbitrary figure) after being ignited.

Would like the ability to enable/disable MFDs on second and third monitors by pressing either a HOTAS switch or keyboard press.

Further development

Hi,

At YT i saw an easteregg movie of a guy ejecting, walking around his craft towards an jeep en ridding with that jeep...

That brought me into my fantasy world... It would be nice if the mission would start in a briefing room. From their you drive your jeep to the hangar. You enter the hangar trough a small door. And there she is underneath very bright hangar lights...waiting to get punished. You walk around the craft and push the button to release the ladder and climb in the cockpit, all from 1st person view. As soon as you take your seat, the hangar doors roll open en a towtruck tows you to the outside. A marshall contact you trough the radio to begin the startup procedure and hands you over to the tower. From that point on, rock and roll starts...:pilotfly:

I had too much coffee today:cry:

Without sollutions there aren't any problems

I would like to see "DCS: Su-25/T" , just like "DCS: A-10 C Warthog" A much more complex and realistic flying of the Su-25 and Su-25T. Then the odds will be even..:-)

But are the Su-25 and Su-25T in FC2 already realistic enough? Can't we go deeper into details like in DCS: A-10 C Warthog?

I was going to ask for "DCS: AV 8/B Harrier II ", but it has been put out of service.

And still I don't think DCS would have done it, although VTOL flying in a DCS simulation would be AWESOME.and there is only one PC flight simulator with Harrier. I think it is a mod for Strike Fighters or for Wings Over Europe something like that...

I think only realistic what Su-25T does have is flight model. About rest... of course we have Shkval as same as real T-Toad does have... but... even cockpit has been build without any real data reference as I was told when I had asked. So all what we have in Su-25T except FM and typical devices like Shkval, HSI, Beryoza (instead of Pastel originally?) is under high question, highly probably it is not realistic at all.

Hope to see in DCS Frogfoots... but please not Su-25A, not these World-War II strikers :P

Both are absent so far in plans as you can see notation in Russian section :C

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Then a combo, su-25 + su-25t + dynamic campaign, would be acceptable :)

Aaargh, just see the link, bye bye su-25

Could we get the ability to have the friendly infantry use IR strobes for ID?

This would add immersion, and aid in preventing fratricide when labels are off when bluefor is in close contact with enemy during low light/night missions.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Also infantry is not moving on the ground or I am wrong? AA infantry just stays put...Normally they are supposed to take cover and shoot low flying aircrafts or helicopters, but then it would be too damn hard to designate a single manpad with a maverick...
