Bones1775 Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 i know there was a tv show called eight is enough but when it comes to call signs it is not. we need more and what would be even better is if we had the ability to do custom call signs in ME. with 2.7 the call sign mod in the user files is broken which was pretty clutch for the group i'm in. we were able to add custom callsigns via the mod for each of our squadrons. 4
Pmedic548 Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I agree with the need for more callsigns. My F-16 unit the 170FS had the call signs of Snake and Bull
Bones1775 Posted April 25, 2021 Author Posted April 25, 2021 the group i'm in has 6 squadrons currently and we try to have one per squadron. that leaves only 2 left unless we put down a hog which has 4 additional to the standard 8. befoer the update we were able to have our custom callsigns wit sound files. was pretty cool to be able to call out Bengal 1-1 ready pre-contact

WHOGX5 Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 And please ED, if you overhaul the comms system, please go absolutely insane with the callsigns for longevity. Add 100+ of the most common real life callsigns and we won't have the issue of people using different callsigns for human and AI interaction respectively. 1 1 -Col. AvgeekJoe Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 As someone making up my own missions, would like more call signs please. Like say 100. Callsigns like Moose (C-17), Viper, Scorp (VAQ-132), Ironclaw (VAQ-136), Cougar (VAQ-139 - not just TopGun), OUTLAW (VAQ-141), and yes Maverick & Goose come to mind. Also these I scraped off the Internet - and yes, I think MAC is already in DCS. Pmedic548 Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 As a follow up, Bull was used for aircraft in an air to ground config, Snake was A2A and we also used Viper for A2A. If a jet had the callsign Snake, it was usually a short mission, usually under an hour, 0.8 was common mission time, Viper indicated a longer A2A lasting usually 2.5 to 3 hours. 1

rkk01 Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 These also need to be multi-National, to reflect the main sim countries / alliances Clearly not possible to cover every option - perhaps each aircraft module should have a set suited to the main operators Good example here is flying a Luftwaffe A8 Anton with callsign “Ford” 2
Northstar98 Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 I mean, even just adding the NATO and Russian phonetic alphabets would be an improvement. 2 Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk. Northstar98 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 It looks like "Viper" is a new callsign, at least according to this: 5 1 Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk. Shrike88 Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 (edited) See this is collecting dust also. Please add more callsigns, not just for select aircraft. one of the easiest updates for ED to do, yet tabled. Should be low hanging fruit . Edited March 1, 2022 by Shrike88
AG-51_Razor Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 19 callsigns for a FAC/JTAC but only 3 for tankers?? I can see where this didn't seem like too big of a deal way back when the A-10 and F-15 were the only planes of ours that could tank behind the KC-135 and the SU-33 and -27 were all that could benefit from the IL-78M but now we have the KC-130, KC-135, KC-135MPRS and the S-3B Viking to work with and a bunch more planes that are capable of AAR. How difficult could it be to add a handful more callsigns? 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
