D4n Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 People on a gaming-discord have pointed out that a beep tone can be heard on Apache voicerecorders after every machinegun-burst. Anyone knows what the purpose of that tone is? 02:50 -> https://youtu.be/iLKtkNnaQbA DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. D4n Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 Why would mic activate after every burst? 1 DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. The ground controller and aircraft were talking to each other. It was likely someone stepping on the other over the radio EDIT Or more likely some radio stuff going on with data pulses and what not. I'm not a comm expert by any means, but I do have a bit of experience with numerous military sets and can say I've heard it in a lot of the older ones. Edited May 18, 2021 by vigilante87
Hammer1-1 Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Im thinking some classified info got beeped out. 1 Intel 13900k @ 5.8ghz | 64gb GSkill Trident Z | MSI z790 Meg ACE | Zotac RTX4090 | Asus 1000w psu | Slaw RX Viper 2 pedals | VPForce Rhino/VKB MCE Ultimate + STECS Mk2 MAX / Virpil MongoosT50+ MongoosT50CM | Virpil TCS+/ AH64D grip/custom AH64D TEDAC | Samsung Odyssey G9 + Odyssey Ark | Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro | WinWing F-18 MIPS | No more VR for this pilot. Dragon1-1 Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 I think they might be keying the mike to indicate that they had fired.
ED Team Raptor9 Posted May 18, 2021 ED Team Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) You all are reading way too much into this. The radio is beeping when people on the net are keying their mic. But the timing of the beeps relative to the gun firing is purely coincidental. There is no fancy editing or tactics in play, it's just a coincidence. VampireNZ Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Is the pilot quietly saying 'GIT SOME!' to himself, and just accidentally keying the mic out of habit. 2 Vampire
Hammer1-1 Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Its most likely nothing. Personally I think its like any other video from law enforcement to combat footage where sensitive info might get bleeped out thats bleeped with an identical mic xmit sound. Or it could be anything else..but its definitely just a mic xmit and nothing more.
