12 and 20 euros is very cheap for a product like this!!

And spore 50 euros...

I think a very good price should ve 30 euros, think that this product has lot of work, but the more important thing, is that we want they keep working in future modules, so:

30 euros Box

20 euros download

Steel Beasts Pro PE $125.

Pioneer Plasma TV $3000.

$795 for Black Shark seems fair... but they'll have to throw in a baseball hat or no sale for me!

$39.9 seems to be friendly in US but I will advice $69.9 for a special edtion of BS which includes another bonus DVD that has some perticular material such as Producer Note 1-7 HD version, 100 different high-definition skins for Ka-50, a real-man introduction and deep review to Ka-50 (HD video), advanced tactical guides of Ka-50, Top-10 Ka-50 ladies' HD picures and videos, DCS:BS special edition memorial coin and stamps, a DCS developers sign-up family photo, a certification book that identifies you as "THE PEOPLE THAT GAVES CONTRIBUTION TO THE SELLINGS OF DCS: BLACK SHARK!", some sticky papers of DCS logos or something, a Modder Pack with detailed SDK, a Medal of DCS: Black Shark. Wow, that would be great for Special Edition

Price of Black Shark is the least expensive item in my "virtual cockpit". I would gladly pay $50 for downloadable Russian version of Black Shark.

Here a Ubishit game for PS3 cost about 65 Euros or 90 USD

I dont wanna say I dont have such games (Assasins Creed is great BTW):music_whistling: but you played it for about 10 or 20 hours, then you put it away and maybe you will play it again when its already old, so maybe there are 30-50 hours of fun for 90 USD.

So how much we all payed for LockOn and CF, almost nothing from my point of view, I dont log flighttimes (just in RL :)) but I think its in the hundreds hours in the last few years!!!! :joystick::pilotfly:

So I payed 125 for Steelbeasts Pro, I would also pay 100 USD for BS!

I hope the ED guys dont read this.........:music_whistling::megalol:

1 hour in my Corvette Z06????

12000 km at Avarage Speed 55 km/H = 218 h

65000 USD (Invest) : 218 h = 298 USD / h until today

+ Gas 12000km : 13l / 100 km = 1560 l x 1.65 USD/l here = 2574 USD

Tires 2500 USD

Maintenace 1000 USD

so 2500+2574+65000+1000= 71074 USD : 218h = 326 USD per h of Fun!!!

:megalol::cry::doh:

1 h of Fun with Piper Arrow wet, Landing Fees and stuff = 363 USD per h of Fun!!!

:pilotfly:

So what should BS or a good Simulator cost???

Yea you spends hundreds of dollars on your pc, joystick, trackir all that for the software. So if the product cost around 100 dollars, it would actually be reasonable. That being said, I don't know how much it will cost. regardless I'm still buying it even though I beta tested it.

Me too, SuperKungFu. Gotta support the developers.

Interesting though, in this sluggish environment for flight sims (lowest I can recall), we're about to get the greatest sim ever released (IMHO). Of the developers that survived over the past 15 or so years, I'm glad ED was one of them!

You got a very good point!! Few previous posts made sense as well. I'll say, $100 is a reasonable price indeed.

Pricing Points in all markets will be declared when the English, German, French, Spanish versions are available for distribution. We are also aware of the problems of countries where pricing of a typical western price is too high in relation to the disposable income of those countries. We are investigating solutions.

Please note that the world wide economy is collapsing and we can not predict what the position will be in early 2009.

I dare to say that DCS is the most realistic combat flight simulator that is available for the public, so it should cost a lot more than the average crap games that i.e EA releases every month. This is a high quality product which deserves to be priced accordingly. Lets say the price was twice the amount of a standard game; it wouldn't scare off any "hardcore" flight simmer, but maybe some casual players. But to be honest : I don't think the casual gamer will buy this game.

A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H

Actually DCS is set to cater to casual gamers as well with its game mode.

As such it will be priced accordingly, I'm sure.

umm yeah, there are some interesting thoughts on what the price should be in here. I just want to say, that anything over $70.00 Dollars (U.S.) would be too much. In fact it should be cheaper than that in my opinion. more like 50-60 bucks. I know alot of people want to make sure that ED makes enough money to continue on making great stuff, but I am sure that they will. Plus you are going to get to spend more money on new modules once or twice a year for the next couple of years too, so I think ED should be O.K. the truth is, even if there are a few of you who would gladly spend 800 dollars or whatever for black shark, the vast majority of the people would not. I know you all are excited for black shark, but theres no need to take your pants off and bend over and say "give it to me, and I dont care how hard you do it!"

Remember when DCS releases its only going to have the one flyable aricraft. You will have plenty of opportunitys to shell out more money when the expansions come out.

lets see:

dcs black shark: $50.00

A-10 module: $20.00

Apache module: $20.00

F-16 module: $20.00

so just right there that $110.00 bucks per person over the life of the game. so lets say they sell 500,000 copies worldwide. (I hope they sell more, but its a nice average number for the purpose of this little comment)

110.00 X 500,000 = $55,000,000 If you ask me 55 million dollars is nothing to sneeze at.

Dont let the smell get to ya...............

Posted

Is 500,000 copies possible? Yes, I know you said world wide.

$20 per add-on, huh. You a zombie on crack? :D The Sims expansion pack cost more than that.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
