AvgeekJoe Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Made my own little arty site using assets from this pak:
Minsky Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Guys, I have a small request. Could you please, wherever possible, avoid signs written in any specific language? I mean, brand names (Toyota, Hesco) are obviously fine. And Arabic words on an insurgent vehicle are fine too. But neutral looking objects, such as this gate, look weird when placed anywhere but Caucasus. 1 Dima | My DCS uploads
AvgeekJoe Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Hey @Minsky is there a truck with lights or just a PATRIOT radar towards the center there? Also yes gotta be careful about text.

AvgeekJoe Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Got a little gift for you all in this group... The two missions in the .7z file are right now in the "Open Beta" stage and certainly requires the SAM Sites Asset Pack be installed as you can see below. Also the A-10C Tank Killer II is used as the weapons platform; but in the future I'll definitely make Su-25 & AH-64 versions. But figure you might want to play around with this and let me know what you honestly think. Especially as a more spicy version is going to be part of a "Green Monster" mission pack in 2022. Sama Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Is there a way to "snap to ground" HESCO barriers etc. so they are level/follow the terrain?
LetMePickThat Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 1 hour ago, Sama said: Is there a way to "snap to ground" HESCO barriers etc. so they are level/follow the terrain? No, you need to pay attention to the contour lines on the map.
Paladin1cd Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 So I added this and put some revets in around a SAM site in a multiplayer system. I've been commenting out mods so that other users could join - does that disable this mod? THe herculeas mod you can do that to and join the server and be fine.

Paladin1cd Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 (edited) It's a method to allow people to join by removing the mod requirements. I've seen it commonly done with some things, less so with others. Everyone on the server had the mod however. Edited December 31, 2021 by Paladin1cd 1
Andartu Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Hello. Just found this mod and I really really like it! Gives me fantastic options to build up FOB's, especially for the upcoming Apache. Me and a friend who runs the server we fly on have a little problem. The mod is in my Saved Games/mods/tech, in his and also on the server. But for some reason the assets do not show up when running a mission on the server. No problem in SP though. Any suggestions?

Hmmm, I did not encounter this issue. Would you mind sending the .miz so that I can give it a shot on my own server?

Or they conflict with your mod somehow. I will build a more simple mission only with your mod and see if the problem remains. I'll pm it to you next week if you don't mind.
LetMePickThat Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 Smooth sailing for this little ammo transfer operation, so far. 7

AvgeekJoe Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 @LetMePickThat Can you plz make a template of that ammo transfer station? Thanks!
norman99 Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 Absolutely love this mod! One question though, has anyone used it to create some templates of SAM sites? Personally I’m interested in the older Soviet systems (SA-2/3/5/6/8/9/11/13 etc..) rather than newer S-300/400 variants. Whilst I’ve tried making a few with the help of “Aussie Air Power” http://www.ausairpower.net/sams-iads.html, I just don’t seem to have the knack of creating realistic looking sites like others do. So please, anyone who has created a few templates, I’d love to grab a copy. Cheers 1

AvgeekJoe Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 @LetMePickThat What @Rudel_chw said. Templates please. I had to spend a lotta time recently going over sites like Aussie Air Power to figure out how to make realistic SAM sites. Hopefully the below is somewhat realistic: 2

Most of them rely on the HDSM, and I have no way to check that people who installed 2SAP also have HDSM. @norman99I haven't forgotten you buddy, I just need to tidy up a few things and I'll send you my templates. I'm a bit short on time here, sorry for the delay. 19 hours ago, AvgeekJoe said: @LetMePickThat What @Rudel_chw said. Templates please. In real life, the Clam Shell and 30N6 would be located further apart, and the Big Bird would be on a different site (probably feeding two or three batteries at the same time). I had pretty much the same worries when I shared my airbase templates, as they made heavy use of the VPC Airfield Objects Mod. 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
AvgeekJoe Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 @LetMePickThat Plz direct message me your templates. Also thanks for the tip on the S-300 SAM site - will make adjustments. As you are probably aware, am working on a mission pak of 22+ missions and will tell everybody they have to download your SAM Sites pak & @Rudel_chw's VPC Airfield Objects Mod. Expect to release at least an open beta in 2Q 2022. 1

Your knowledge is far beyond mine on how these sites have been setup and what I can decipher and read from the aus airpower site. Thanks again for everything with this mod. You guys really have outdone yourself.
