v2tec Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Perhaps, it is the real behaviour / color of labels for the TGP and Maverik MFD pages, but the white/gray labels are terrible readable with the background image also in grayscale. The FCR and HSD pages can show color elements, so it would be great to have colored button labels (e.g. blue). Even known, that a real pilot doesn't need the labels - he / she already knows the button location for the desired function... ________________________ ________ ______ ___ __ _ Win10 64 Pro, i7-6800K 3.4Ghz, 32 GB (DDR4), Asus Aorus 1080 TI WF, TrackIR 5 / RIFT, Thrustmaster Warthog, Fanatec Pedals, 55" oled 4k TV, Modules:A10C, KA-50, Huey, AV-8B, FA-18, F-16, NTTR, Persian Gulf _ __ ___ ____ _____ ______ _______ ____________

Frederf Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 The labels have a black outline of 1 pixel to give good contrast against a light video image.

I am sure they have, but nevertheless it's eye training on VR. ________________________ ________ ______ ___ __ _ Win10 64 Pro, i7-6800K 3.4Ghz, 32 GB (DDR4), Asus Aorus 1080 TI WF, TrackIR 5 / RIFT, Thrustmaster Warthog, Fanatec Pedals, 55" oled 4k TV, Modules:A10C, KA-50, Huey, AV-8B, FA-18, F-16, NTTR, Persian Gulf _ __ ___ ____ _____ ______ _______ ____________
Bunny Clark Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 The real Viper avionics has a "high vis" display mode, which swaps all the white text to bright yellow. I don't think this was a pilot-selectable change, and different squadrons seemed to implement it at different times. Not sure when that started to be a thing, it may be out of time from for the DCS Viper. 2 Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign. That would make a cool "Special Options" checkbox if it would be something appropriate for the jet in the sim. Was it definitely used by USAF? Certainly make things easier on the eyes for us VR guys. Comrade Doge Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 (edited) The visibility of MFD options can be challenging, as you can see in the image. This is the AGM-65 display and I cannot see any option for it. Edited November 1, 2021 by Comrade Doge

Comrade Doge Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Ah I see... Well here's hope they will implement this. I am sure they are busy now with other things but maybe they will jot down this small tidbit.
Crptalk Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Makes me wish they would just overhaul the mfd's completely to improve readability. Trying to read the mfds through the fake screen door effect while wearing a vr headset with real screen door effect is terrible. 1
