It won't slave to moving targets on the radar. GMT radar got stuck in FZ when I tried active jamming, even after turning it off.  Tried resetting power, but just couldn't unlock and unfreeze no matter now many times I did TMS down on each SOI. TGP (which I thought I put in inertial point) will NOT hold a lock on a moving vehicle. And god forbid it goes behind a tree. Or keeps moving in a straight line. Or the crew blinks. What the heck?
Trying to use LGBs to bomb some moving tanks. Nightmare. The ZSU just keeps hitting me. The 1 I am trying to hit first, but can't keep a lock on. I sorta got it to slave to the radar at first, but it doesn't keep up with the moving target. Targets have very clear contrast, but it won't stay on it anyway.
Is this normal? I'm using open beta, but I don't think there's been an update yet this month.
Yes, I am in CCRP or DTOS, not CCIP.  I know CCIP fixes the TGP forward.
I have been watching Wags's and Grim Reapers videos.  Just having a lot of trouble today trying to attack moving targets with the TGP.

There‘s a known bug that the SPI doesnt move with moving targets. As for the rest, it could be a bit of both, tgp being easily distracted by street lamps, trees etc and combined wuth the SPI issue. GMT stuck in freeze when jamming i dunno, maybe post a track if you can reproduce?

Following GMT targets is I think a WIP thing that should be added eventually.

Getting stuck in Freeze sounds like a bug.

Trying to track and bomb a moving target sounds like a mix of WIP stuff, realistic limitations, and tactics.

Following a moving target you should be in POINT track, if it's in an inertial track (P-INR) it does not have a valid visual contrast lock on the target, you should maneuver for better visibility. Point tracks will absolutely be broken by trees or other objects passing in front of the target, that's entirely realistic. They'll also break if the TGP looses sight of the target due to masking for any amount of time. Point is done by image analysis, it needs an uninterrupted visual of the target at all times to work.

If you're getting tagged by a ZSU making your bomb runs, you're too low. Being higher will give you better visibility, and reduce the LOS rate of the moving target, making it easier for the TGP to track. It makes bombing a bit more difficult because of the higher bomb TOF, I have best luck making my runs perpendicular to target motion and manually leading the ASL. Do not bomb in the same direction your target is moving, as that will extend the bomb fall range to impact, potentially outside of max range. I increase my lasing time, usually to 15 or 20 seconds depending on target speed.

If you need to be low because of cloud cover, an LGB probably isn't the best weapon to take out that ZSU. A Maverick would be better.

Yeah, not being able to have a moving SPI with the FCR in GMT is a killer.  Just tried same setup again with D model Mavericks without TGP and you really can't see anything.  Like, maybe it's a zoom thing?  Then not being able to follow with radar is awful.  Also, locking GMT target (TMS up) seems to put the radar on Freeze.  Smart.
Maybe I should have gotten the F/A-18?  Seems a little more fleshed out.

PS, Isn't INERTIAL point track supposed to be able to kinda follow if target goes behind trees for a sec?  Isn't that why it's called that?  Because it tries to follow along even if it looses LOS for a second?

Noob question:

How can I slew the TGP to the target that I select via GMT radar?

The GMT does slew my Mavericks to selected targets but not the TGP like it does in the Hornet.
What am I missing?

It should be automatic and in fact it should be impossible for TGP to track anything while GM/GMT/SEA radar is slewed. It should be slaved to the radar LOS. Until it's fixed there is a workaround where you cycle the sighting point rotary. Every cycle the TGP will point toward the SPI. Since most times you only have "TGT" in the rotary a simple TMS right with FCR SOI will do it.

I noticed two behaviors, which I thought were strange, and thought I'd post them for comments/investigation.

Firstly, if I achieve a moving point track on a vehicle and then I switch ground weapons, the point track is lost.  I would have thought the point track would be independent of the weapon.

Secondly, if I manoeuvre such that I lose line of sight of the moving vehicle for 15-30s, the point track is maintained and is perfectly tracking the target when the TGP regains line of sight.  I wouldn't be surprised if the TGP could attempt to predict the position based on the previously observed motion, but am somewhat skeptical that it can do this perfectly.

I've attached a track showing both of these behaviors.
